Hey jersey,

You’re the idiot. Being in amazing shape at 59 is difficult no matter how rich you are. How many 59 yr old rich guys look like him. You still have to have the discipline to work your ass off in the gym, and do it correctly. You still have to have the discipline to eat the right foods, regardless of who prepares them.

Jers,

Wow, I must say you’ve gotten extremely upset over a pretty trivial matter. Look at PatsFan’s post and LEARN. Not once have I ever called anyone on this or any other site any derogatory names, not once. But you seem to use name calling with great ease. Feel free. My point stays the same and has not changed. The only thing I said about Stallone is that he knows something about staying fit. You have yet to come up with a valid argument against that, other than, he’s rich…Doesn’t really hold water.

Yes, he’s rich and can afford trainers. So you think he knows nothing because of this, (if I’m understanding you correctly). I agree that there are many, many rich people out there who eat what they’re told, do what they’re told, and know nothing about being fit. I just don’t think Stallone is in this catagory.

Just one other thing, please try and use spell check.

No kidding bro, I know plenty of rich guys in great shape. Regardless the point is. Just because he is in shape it DOES NOT mean he knows what he is talking about. Hard work? working out is a fucking joy and as far as a strict diet goes when I am enjoying my millions I am sure I wont even notice its discipline. Especially when the food is prepared by a proffesional chef.

No Lost you did not understand me correctly my point is that Stallone may or may not know what he is doing. The fact that he is in shap, at any age, does not prove he knows.

And I am not upset, I think your stupid and I like to pick on stupid people. Yes I call you names but I will beat you on any debate in just about any subject because face it bro you are just not that bright.

PatsFan, stay outta dis! You dont sound to bright yourself. Idiot? No boy I dont think so, asswhole? sometimes but only to people who diserve it. Stick to watching footbal.

If being wealthy was all it took to achieve optimal fitness, then why is Oprah such a fat ass?

Dr. Phil is responsible.

I said its easier if you are rich. Doesnt mean every one who is rich does what then can to be in shape. Or has the genetics to look like Sly no matter how they eat, workout or what age they are.

No where in any of my posts did I say being rich was all it took to be in shape.

To the same point just because Oprah is a fat ass does not mean she does not know what needs to be done. She might be lazy my theory is it is do to the evil influence of Dr. Phil…

this is slightly off-topic, but I think its relevant.

I have had three times in my life where I had three or more months to literally do nothing but train, eat and rest. In each case, I had many several months in which I had few responsibilities, great training facilities, plenty of money for quality food, etc. Each time I can remember planning and thinking that I was going to make INCREDIBLE progress because everything was “near perfect”

Guess what–I made dismal progress during each of these times. I had nothing to do except eat, sleep and train or think and dwell about training-It made me lazy, sluggish, and what appeared to be a “lifters nirvana” turned into a rut.

I compare that with times in my life, in which I was very busy with family, career, business (which is most of the time) and that is when I made the best gains, when I was always in that
“forward momentum” mode.

sometimes having it all can be a dis-advantage. I think if I was really wealthy, I would weight about 350lbs

Is’nt that what happened to the rapper Big Punisher. I heard he gained all the weight that eventually killed him after he got wealthy.

Bro any tips for how to stay on track when your busy as fuck? School starts and I lose it.

I am actually putting together an article on that very topic for another periodical (sort of a mens health type publication) and I will re-post it here or PM you. I will suggest a couple of things.

  1. Full Body Workouts, pick multiple compound stuff, ie clean and press, that allow you to “double up”

  2. Block off your workout times each week and stick to it

  3. Write your workout down in a 4x6 index card in advance, so that when you get to the gym, you know exactly what you are going to do

  4. Take 5 minutes each night before bed and make sure everything is “ready to go” for the following day, I can tell what kind of day I have by how the first 30 minutes go–if I am scrambling around looking for my keys, etc, it starts me on a downward spiral

  5. Get in the habit of getting up earlier than you need to.

  6. Eat Breakfast

  7. Every now and then, turn the gym into your labratory/playground and just experiment with stuff, try new exercises, throw stuff around, try new foot spacing, etc.–just have fun

  8. Have some time alloted each week to “think about lifting” , ie, browse this site, read magazines, etc. Trust me, If the net was around when I was younger, I would have never gotten ANYTHING DONE.

hope that gives you a running start

I am sure others will add to this

You’re young. We all can tell. Learn how to spell. And use correct grammar. Y-o-u-'r-e means you are. Your posts have so many errors in them they’re hard to read. Using profanity as much as you shows your intelligence and age level. That’s the problem with people like you, you think you win these arguments, (and that’s totally fine, it’s better for you to think that anyway)…However just because you continue to fail to see other people’s points of view does not mean you win anything. It means you are close minded and nothing more.

Being in shape doesnt mean you know dick about anything. Especially as rich as he is, with that money you can pay people to train you and cook for you, drive you to the gym, ect ect.

Oh, so…he started rich, and with cooks and trainers right from the start?? Yeah that makes sense.
[/quote]

He may not have started rich, but in one of his 37 page ads in Muscle and Fitness, he wrote that he has spent “hundreds of thousands of dollars” for the latest training and diet information. I have no clue how that is even possible, unless he includes the start of his supplement company in that figure…

Things like this just piss me off, the secret to getting lean isn’t vinegar, it’s called a diet.

The Butchers bill for Ladanian Tomlinson’s personal trainer was upwards of 250grr. It’s possible, definitely.

I would not be surprised to learn that Stallone knows his shit about fitness.

He is clearly fit and has been for years.

He is a fairly smart guy, he just sounds a little stupid because of his speech impediment.

While he probably is not good enough to write for T-Mag, he likely knows more about fitness than 99.9% of the general population and 90% of the citizens of T-Nation.

Apple cider vinegar can be a very good and healthy thing.
However, I don’t believe that’s what keeps Stallone fit, storng, healthy, muscular and lean. He just exercise daily (and pretty darn heavy!) and pays attention to nutrition and the foods he eats.

Regardless, adding Apple-Cider vinegar to your meals and salads, as well as lemon juice, can neutralize metabolic acidosis and reduce renal acidity and the PRAL of the meals. It also can stabilize glycemia (blood glucose levels) and reduce the glycemic (and the insulinemic) responses to the meals and therefore might combat carb craving and appetite, which ultimately reduce food and energy intake. It also improves immune function and has powerful anti-oxidative properties. Yep, there is also scientific evidence and some studies suggesting acetic acid and vinegar can improve insulin sensitivity, glucose disposal and glycogen resynthesis and repletion in liver and skeletal muscles. Combine all together, those effects might help you to improve health, body composition and even sports performance.

Also, apple cider vinegar with a little olive oil as a salad dressing is damn tasty (and healthy)!

Hope that helps,
F&F

Everyone wants to have their cake and eat it too.

No one wants to do the hard work of doing the NECESSARY amount of exercising and eating healthy when there are pills and potions out there that promise to give the same results. Look at the overwhelming success of Ephedra, Hydroxycut, etc.
