LOL!
I try to have fun wherever I go. And to think, there is so much more of me you didn’t see.
Well it looks like I’m late to the party. The Staley Weekend was great, as expected. The presenters did an incredible job.
Now for some Thank You’s and random musings:
Thanks to Chris Shugart and Dave “The Incredible Bulk” Barr for their hospitality.
Thanks to Team Staley for all their hard work in putting together such a great event.
Thanks to HotAZ for helping us get around and procure food.
It was nice to meet Chad Waterbury and to spend several hours talking to Lonnie Lowery.
Nate Dogg, yes he was touchy feely and as short as advertised. While he didn’t grab my butt, he did grab my arm. So I just held it out to my side and let him do a set of pull-ups Just kidding, Nate is a really nice guy.
Dan F’ing John , nuff said.
Jillybop and Sandy were alot of fun to hang out with.
Phill ‘KidRock’ is a great guy. Good luck with your last semester buddy.
Dave Barr is on a bulking phase and as I sat next to him, you can actually hear his pancreas making insulin. However, do not let him choose yor sight-seeing trip or you just might get to watch some guys make wind chime casts out of molten steel.
Vroom is a really great guy after you threaten him with a beatdown if he brings up politics. Yes we did have him recreate his avatar pose on numerous occasions.
The raffle was full of great products and of course I didn’t win anything. But Dave won the big bag full of good stuff so I’ll be having him send me some stuff.
It was really good to meet all the other T-Nation members. It was funny referring to people as screen-names. It is probably the only time you can call someone Bastard and have them smile when they greet you. I was also glad that my screen-name wasn’t Uncle Nasty Fingers.
All in all, it was a great weekend. Even better, it was topped off by a free upgrade to 1st class on my flight back to Ohio.
I always come away from these trips wishing everyone lived closer so that it was easier to get together.

I’m so jealous! I’ll be there next year. I’ll even bring along WguitarG and if Nate is lucky we’ll let him catch the same flight as us [/quote]
Oh, forgot to add one thing. CW’s bod (from what I can see) is built a lot like WguitarG is… tall, long neck, long femurs, long arms, etc. Now I’ve seen WguitarG w/out clothes, so this is for you Jilly…if Chad would just remove some of those clothes I can really make a good comparison.
Nate: I don’t think that would would go over well with him. You really don’t want a 6’3, 230lber ((and still growing)) get the wrong impression of you
If there’s anyone who’s been following this thread and is still not convinced that it’s a great time, I’ll consider buying you a ticket!
Although last year was great, this year seemed far better. The speakers were more polished and the demo’s were great. The fact that there were a hundred great Dane’s staying at the hotel was pretty cool too.
The Ultimate gift bag I won for “sexiest male of the year” had over $1200 worth of stuff (although everyone walked away with a gift bag).
Contents of the Ultimate bag included several books, by: Staley (everything he’s written including his new book), Chad Waterbury (yes, Waterbury), Bud Jeffries, Travis Speegle etc.
DVD’s from Staley and Dan John.
CD’s from Dr. Lonman and Jack Singer.
Heavy Handle, Haulin’ Hooks, Heavy Gripper, Kettle stacks.
iPOD accessories.
Low-Carb Grow!, Grow! Barrs.
9 T-Shirts, including several from Biotest/T-Nation.
$200 Gift certificate for Staley gear.
A knife-fighting DVD set from Tim Larkin worth $500.
Whew!
Thanks to Team Staley for a wonderful seminar and great time!
As for the people at the bootcamp, it seemed like a very friendly atmosphere. Everyone I met was great, although I was a little more reserved than usual. Sure I was groped by Nate and made fun of by Dr Ryan (and vroom, and Phill, and Bastard, and …), but I think the several days of vacationing before hand really wore me out (I ran out of Pop Tarts!).
[My brother and I climbed a mountain (the highest peak pictured above) and it was all downhill from there. LOL]
Ironically, despite the name, I’m not a big Bar guy. I prefer the small intimate group settings, so if anyone is ever up for Starrbucks, I’ll be there. Thanks to Dr Ryan and Dr Lonman for the conversation at the worlds most common coffee shop.
It sounds like everyone had a blast at the Bar, so I think I’ll be making an exception next year. In fact, I encourage all the ladies to sample the mini-Barr, FREE of charge!
Lastly, congratulations to JillyBop for winning the physique transformation contest. She worked her butt off and it shows!
Here’s to a fine introduction, and to new friends.
Cheers
Okay, here we go: Danny John is obviously an athlete because he can still walk after 83 Scotches with Derek, but his Time Under Tension with the Sandbags was not up to the protocol. His clothing choices…both of them…were picked out from a garage sale in 1958. He speaks funny and has a hair design that looks like he merely wiped his hand over his head (actually twice!).
Chad gets the whole “long femurs” thing. Now, is it just me or does that sound…heck, I have no idea what a femur is…

You poor thing
Shhh I was trying to help Jilly out… she’s the one who is acting like a giddy little school girl.
If it makes you feel any better I think bastard has a crush on you. He said your his hero. Note to Bastard, feel free to leave dirty messages on my voicemail

You love me too much to even consider sharing my digits You’ve sooo signed your name on here before. Well your name has magically disappeared from my posts now anyway.

If Bastard doesn’t share your digits, maybe I will!
Thanks Charles and company.
The atmosphere was great and the presenters/artists exceptional. The audience was knowledgeable and willing. It was nice to meet brothers and sisters of the iron.
It brings me back to the days of my youth when the iron sport was an assembly of individuals melded into a community who enjoyed training, camaraderie and life.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend the nights festivities but next year who knows?
Special thanks to Jules.

Show off
*For all guys: don’t ask for my number. (With exception of Eric Cressey or John Berardi). Only Nate and Bastard have my number because I’ve shared several in depth conversations with them. Yeah, who would of thought Bastard was capable of having intelligent conversations… who would have thought Nate was capable of doing more than posting pictures of William Shatner talking about hitting things?
ok boys and girls- if you want to come next year you had better start making plans. I have already got a pretty big list going of who has signed up already. I will help you to make being here a reality. PM me your phone number and I will call you with details. Hint- if you just came to this past one: next one will be bigger and better (if that is possible). We are already working on it-thanks, Jules
