Holy fuck guys…it just increases the knee torque…it’s physics for christ’s sake, I suggest you odn’t do it if you value you’re knees, increase your hip/lower back AND knee torque and you’ll get your depth.
I’m 6’2", very bad ankles (once spent 6 weeks in a walking cast becuase I twisted it), knee operations and bad lower back.
I did the squat with the 2X4, the 10lbs plates, etc.
Then I met a powerlifter that changed all of that. First, he introduced me to ART. Second, he showed me how to properly lift (i’m still having problems with deadlift, but I graduated to the bar) and made me buy flat shoes.
Zero problems. I can even front squat no problems.
It has been said before. Take care of the problems and you will soon lift properly and with no pain or imbalances.
