Squat Target

Alrighty folks.

Last week i hit a new squat PB of 182.5kg/400lbs for a beltless double.

This week i hit 200kg/440lbs x2 and 205kg/455lbs x1

should I max out again next week? us 205 as a max and hit 5x5 @ 80% (160kg) or something else?

hit 160 5x5 tonight like it was nothing. then 180x5 then 140x18.

So 175 5x5 next wee i reckon!

That broad is serious. Btw nice front squatting. I hit a 10kg best of 170kg last Friday (8/13), however not quite as fast as yours. Very strong sir.

that was 20kg PB for me

wanting 200kg before the end of the year and 400lbs before my bday at end of oct!

That would be a ferocious front squat.

Great lifting. I,m not sure how long you can continue with those large increases though. I also never wear a belt. What is your reason for not using one? and now you are nearing your current max what do you feel is your weak link? Quads? Back? Abs?

honestly i took the belt off because hitting depth was becoming near enough impossible due to how fat i was/am.

dont think i have a weak chain atm. my front squat is still stuidly close to my back squat so legs are fine.

Im DLin close to 300kg, so my back is fine.

I just OH squated 100kg so my abs/back/core are fine.

i recently did 180 3x5, 1x3. which puts my “projected max” in the regioin of 220 but ive only lifted 205.

Still not using a belt either and my training partners reckon they get close to 30kg out of one…

The increases whould keep coming. no more squating for 14 days. got a strongman comp on the 4th.

Pre xmas training is very much being focused on improving the big three with the aim to enter a RAW PL comp before xmas. The target is to hit 250/150/300 at a BW around 120.

Those are impressive numbers! What system of progression are you using on the squats and deads? Eg reps x sets. Are you using percentages etc?

Your training partners have weak trunks…no way I can see someone with a strong trunk add 30kg for their front squats! How much do you think it would add to your front?

It’s hard to believe you could stack on 30kg on to your front squat with just a belt. I’ve done 170/201 @ 90, never tried more but I’m pretty f0cking sure that my quads would be the limiting factor and not my trunk.
