That’s insane.

I workout in the morning and that’s sorta like twilight zone time because it’s when most people come in and start their trial memberships, so I’ll see some crazy shit, but then never see the person again.

One guy, who couldn’t have weighed 150, came in, put 135 on the bench, and started pressing it with no warmups or anything. He was maybe doing sets of 5, but every single set looked like a max. He was turning reddish purple, shaking violently, etc… then he’d do another rep! He did like 3 sets like this and scared the hell out of everyone nearby.

Another time, a guy that comes in maybe once a week and does cardio brought in his super fat wife. I mean she looked like the troll on ernest scared stupid, but with a gut that actually hung between her legs. She sat on the rowing machine and stared at all of us lifting for like an hour. Creeped me right the hell out.

Thats why I spent $3000 and work out in my garage, I have to give up a training partner which would help on bench. But it is worth it not to have to put up with stupid stuff, and I can listen to my own music without headphones.

My favorite thing in my gym: the personal trainer with the incredible upper body (except he has the smallest pencil neck ever- i am always afraid he’ll turn his head too hard and it’ll just snap and hang there like a dead weight), and absolutely no lower body. My forearms are bigger around than his calves. I CHECKED TODAY.

What happened in that story is to the point that I wouldn’t just shake my head at the guy. Much more yelling and pointing and laughing would have to occur, if not an outright beating about the face, head, chest neck and back.

This thread needed to be bumped back to the 1st page.

I was at the gym when I ran into my neighbor. He said, “dude, I didn’t know your girlfriend was going to be here”?

I didn’t have to look, I knew he was referring to the pre-op tranny at the db rack. He/ she is approx 65 tall, skinny wears a female top with shorts and white panyhose and some kind of female low heel dress shoe.

He/ she changes in the men’s locker room but dresses female. WTF?

… not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Oh, and what qualifies this post is that he/ she walked past the squat rack and probably thought about doing curls.

Saw a guy doing crunches today on the flat bench. WTF

I have a buddy who moved to Colorado. I guess the majority of the sex change clinics in the US are there. He called me up the first day of work to let me know his department had three transexuals in various states of pre/post/whatnot.

Then he called me a few months later to let me know he’s worried. Now he doesn’t even notice.

Though not necessarily a SRC…

I was eating in my Uni’s DC, and there was this guy sitting next to us (it was crowded). So all of a sudden he starts talking to this guy a table or so over about something. The exchange went something like this:

“Nah man, it’s not steroids.”
Other guy says something
“Nah man, it just helps you heal faster.”
Something.
“Naw man, it’s not steroids, it’s legal.”
etc…

That exchange went on for a couple minutes. All the time I was thinking, “the creatinez?”

Oh hell, I almost forgot the one today.

I’m doing deadlifts, and the student worker in the weight room comes over and tells me there’s a strict “no olympic lifts” policy. I told her “I beg to differ,” and continued.

yesterday i was on the seated calf raises, and infront of me is the smith machine, i see these 2 kids joking around they start racking it up one puts on a 20kg, other puts on a 5kg. the one guy about 2 start squatting then check the weight, his buddy starts laughing his ass off, then puts the correct weight on. or so he thought… ended up putting 30kg instead of 20kg…watching this guy squat this mixed weight bar was amazing… and he didnt realise untill i actually went up 2 him and told him…

Saw a guy today using the squat rack to do standing concentration curls

Ur good brah, thats technically a power rack.

Also check ur form… Power rack curls require more hip movement, try to get as unstable as possible… and really flare out those elbows to decrease the range of motion… Remember, its not HOW you workout, the only thing that matters is the weight on the bar.

yes Im being a jack ass, but its friday so I dont give a fuck

Not to mention the fact that he’s curling more than the average Joe at the gym deep squats.
