As I said before, if trying to get rid of these annoying people that we’re complaining about in (4 threads now!) makes me a douche, then so be it. I just think its funny how we have 4 threads complaining about it and when I talk about my attempts at getting rid of it, I’m called a douche. A little hypocritical? If you LIKE the squat-rack curlers, get the fuck out of the thread.

As far as your, or anybody elses gym goes, if you have retarded squat-rack-curl type shit going on, except it to happen. After all, its not like your doing anything about it. On the other hand if your training in a serious gym w/a serious environment, your safe. I don’t understand whats so hard to understand about that. Maybe I need to slap the shit out of you to help get it in your head? lol

Decent fail, 8/10.
You talk a lot of shit…

Vids of any of these amazing feats of strength that set you far and away apart from your peer group?
Now now, remember, just about everybody on T-Nation thinks of themselves as some kind of god among mere mortals, because of how weak the general public is. It’s harder for some people to shake that perception than others, because they never meet many other strong people irl.
^This

I never claimed to have amazing feats of strength. I don’t blow up my numbers just because I’m online, and I don’t make ridiculous claims. To quote H4M “they never meet many other strong people irl” I would love to but haven’t yet, and as I’ve said before it seems like everyone around here is pathetically weak.

I don’t say that in a “yay I’m strong as hell” kind of way either, it’d be great to have some people to talk shop with so to speak, or have some options for a training partner, hmmm maybe why I post on T-Nation? Instead I’m treated to 135 squatters going 1/8th down, 1/10th leg pressers, 1/4 benchers, and everything else we’ve spoken about on these Squat-Rack-Curl threads. Starting to make sense countingbeans? Or do I have to call you a child too?

What’s the etiquette for upright rows in the squat rack?

I think it’s just as bad so I pulled a Khalid and hid one of the handles for the cable crossovers because the kid that was doing upright rows in the rack (and told me he had 5 more sets) does literally 30 minutes in the cable area. Three times a week. Felt good too.

Yes, some of your antics MIGHT encourage people to leave the gym, but only the people who are too timid to seek out advice or anything like that. The people who are doing it out of ignorance rather than ego. You will never get an actual douche out of the gym by doing it, only annoy them and possibly pick a different time to come in.

On the other hand, if you took a plate off a bar for some lifts and people, you could kill or seriously hurt them. If you take a plate off the left side of my bar when I go to do squats or lunges and I fully unrack the bar, then you’ll probably take me out of the gym for a few months due to me not being able to walk.
solidkhalid wrote:

Don’t for one second think that putting people in a position that could INJURE them PERMANENTLY is doing the world a service.

You are a fucking jackass if you really remove plates to have a bar loaded unevenly, and let the person put themselves in peril.

THAT IS THE FUCKING POINT dumbass. Not that you are trying to “rid the gym of idiots.”

It is one thing to come on here, with your chest puffed out like king shit and post words, it is another to purposely put people in a position to hurt themselves.

I would venture to guess anyone that has actually made any progress will agree with me here. You are picking on people weaker and smaller than you, wow cool dude. You intentionally try and hurt people, wow cool dude. You think you are so superior you can fuck up someone else’s (who doesn’t give a fuck about you) workout, sometimes in a dangerous way, because their goals aren’t the same as yours?

You are a toolshed, stop justifying stupid actions and picking on people smaller than you.

You could try but that wouldn’t work out so well for you. Do I enjoy people curling in the squat rack? No. But handling it like a child doesn’t do very much or change anything, it simply gets people to hate you and them to continue their ways at the next gym they go to. 99% of the time, if you tell people that you need to squat in there, and ask them to take their curls elsewhere, they usually will. If they don’t, tell them there is a rule that you have to have 45’s on each side for any exercise in there, that usually clears out the last 1%. If the person still stays in there and is curling 135+ with a straight bar for reps, chances are it’s someone choosing to be an asshole, or someone that could rip your arms off and there isn’t much you’re going to do about it. Again, I do plenty, I ask them to stop doing it in there, and then tell them why/explain how they do not actually require the rack for any of it. As I’ve said, you just come as a childish douche. If you haven’t noticed, everyone here does not like curls in the squat rack, yet everyone also seems to be disagreeing with you and your methods of idiocy. So instead of telling everyone else to get out of the thread (which is more a venting thread then an active “lets be fucktarded and go to war with people who curl in the squat rack” thread) why not just simply go back to the hole you came from.

I disagree. Everyone has the right to an opinion, however, so I’m not going to get upset if you feel this way. On the other hand, I don’t really mind or care if one of them got injured permanently or not. Different morals/ethics/justice system at play here.

Absolutely agree. As I’ve said before we have 4 threads of complaints, I simply shared my method of disposing of some of it.

-I would venture to guess anyone that has actually made any progress will agree with me here.

Weaker could be argued but smaller is not the case. Many times I’ve noticed larger dudes making the same mockery of working out, and by the same token, have seen larger guys lift less than I. It was a little bit of an eye-opening experience at the time, but I’ve learned since then. But I didn’t discriminate.

To be honest the younger, almost skinny kids at the gym (teenage/high school crowd) really seemed into training and enthusiastic and would ask for help as far as checking form, getting a spot, and exercise selection. I love helping people out (I’m in the industry now) and don’t mind getting questions at all. Intentionally trying to hurt people I’m going to have to disagree.

I know myself and the older guys would always double check the weights we have on our bars for a couple of different reasons, and we all made progress. The ones who didn’t are the ones who were fucking around in the first place. There were some occasions where the uneven bar WAS checked and the person would balance it out. In the same breath, if someone DID get hurt, I’m not going to lose sleep over it.

I didn’t have any superiority issues, and was always willing to play “rookie” to the strong guys. I’ve already named names here but one guy in particular sticks out in my head, he gave me the name in the first place. My issue is if I’m trying to do squats and someone is using the rack and bar for curls, get the fuck out of the gym. I wouldn’t expect you to understand that though. The difference is I HAVE goals, whereas the squat-rack-curlers didn’t.

“Hey, lets go to the gym just so we can say we go to the gym! I’m down for curling 55 for 5 sets, what do you guys think?”

“Fuck yeah! It hasn’t done shit for my guns yet but maybe eventually it will!”

“Woot and we can use this new routine in this Flex magazine article.”

“Yeah, and lets use the foam-back-pad thing on the bar so if we curl and the bar hits out chest, it won’t hurt as much!”

Major bro high-5 session!

How many sets do you have left?

“Oh we just started, I got 4 and hes got 5, and him too, and yo how many you doin? 5? Alright yea hes got 5 too.”

Fuck that. Do your curls elsewhere.

-You are a toolshed, stop justifying stupid actions and picking on people smaller than you.

I’m not sure on the toolshed comment. I’m good with my hands, am into powertools, and do all the maintenance work around my house? I was explaining my actions hoping you would understand, but as a squat-rack-curler I see that my talk falls on deaf ears. And the picking on people smaller than me I’ve already addressed.

And now, to end with the usual internet tough guy bullshit- If I see you doing any squat-rack-curl type bullshit, I’m going to slap you with a plate.

Enjoy!

Right-Gym is a place of progression and training.
Wrong-Gym is a place to hang out, where unfortunately you have to do this annoying thing called “lifting weights” in between long bouts of chatting.

I think I know the difference.

You wonder why you can’t find anyone to work out with? I bet it has nothing to do with the massive amount of weight you push. Probably more to do with the fact that you act like a self righteous fucking moron. As a trainer, and someone who is constantly trying to help the insecure, ignorant people that come into my gym, you sir, are the definition of douche. I wish I was working where you train. You wouldn’t be training there anymore.

I would say pay attention to your own workouts, but you seem to be stronger than everyone else around already… . and none of the advice given is being taken by you, and I assume still wont be… so just go fuck yourself, I guess.

Guys, he talks a big game, but looking at his log he’s weaker then a lot of the girls on here so don’t let him get you too riled up. At the end of the day, you’re still bigger, stronger, and better men then he for being willing to help those that are weaker then you. He only picks on people that are weaker then him, which even by commercial gym standards, aren’t going to be that many people. He’ll get his own when he tries to do his little dipshit things to someone of nominal strength that’s slightly crazy and pull a DBCooper on him.

Bench: Few sets of 155 as his highest
Shrugs: 275 (with straps I presume since he says his traps are ahead of his grip strength)
Squats: 245 - for someone who talks so much shit about squatting, you don’t really squat a lot
Military Press: few sets of 105
Deadlift: 225 - I’ve got high school female rowers weighing less then 130 that are pulling more then this (had a few pull 275 just the last week)
He does tricep kickbacks - lol

/end of the dumbass troll.

Enjoy!
You are in the industry? Seriously? You’re really starting to piss me off.
