I thought that the whole bosu ball with weights thing was just a myth. Until this morning, not 30 minutes ago, I saw someone someone doing overhead tricep extensions on one. I literally stared in unbelief.
This afternoon I saw some guy to dB bench press on a bosu ball.

Bosu Bench!!!
I just youtube’d bosu bench and found a couple of videos that I believe belong here.

So jelly of his high degree of functionality^^^

i wonder if anyone has ever done a good-old-fashioned squat session in that gym

Two guys at the Bally’s I used to train at had the priveldge to borrow a set of chains from someone and were using them to do Military Press. At no point did the chains every touch the ground.
LOL

and as for the videos above, the first 2 minutes and 30 seconds of the 2nd video, is valid… thats just equilibrium training. its used commonly among x game competitors, people who want to pistol squat, etc. theres nothing wrong with the COR bench if it’s used right. but lol@the rest of the video

I bet it would be hell to keep that bar stable… might not be bad at all.
I thought of this and I’ve seen people do this (although they usually use more than one set of chains) but this wasn’t the case here. One of the PTs who actually knew how to use chains came over and showed them the correct way to set them up.

They also set them up with the chain deloaded for their second exercise: jump shrugs. I’m not sure how much validity there is to using balistic exercises with chains, but it was certainly the loudest exercise I’ve ever seen. Even the bros who spent half their workout yelling at each other asked them to keep down the noise.

I’m not sure what the point of the comparison was in the second video. Look, the awkward movement is extra awkward when performed on the super awkward training implement rather than on the only moderately awkward training implement… cool.

That guy is going to be so functional when it comes time to do battle riding around on a longboard wielding a bullwhip.

Here’s how you handle “that guy”. Look at him with intensity while gently stroking you nipple.

There’s nothing gay about it if it’s done in jest… right?

Can’t that kind of thing be reported to staff or possibly even police?

If your bar control sucks, sure. The funny part is, it wouldn’t even be hard at all to make the chains deload on the floor even on MP, with a little extra length of chain. But who the hell am I to assume that even 5% of gym-goers know what the actual purpose of chains is?
They’re for chaining up girls in yoga pants…right?

this is even more retarded. might have been impressive if he had used a KB heavier than 5kg

LOL at the comments

can i use this if i just want to get tone not huge?

Absolutely! The COR Bench takes the focus off of lifting heavy weights and puts it back on stability and control. Those two things require much more work as you fire multiple muscles at once = more calories burned! The COR Bench forces its user to burn nearly 40% more calories than on a regular bench!

The other day I was working out in my college’s athlete only weight room. I was lifting at the same time as the women’s lacrosse team, so I tried to be respectful and kept to a corner squat rack out of everyone’s way. After I racked the weight following one of my sets, one of the girls came over and tied a band around my rack and started working out, with me still standing inside the rack dumbfounded.
I think she wanted to talk to you bro…
I’d agree and probably laugh at myself, but I already know the girl.

Yesterday, I was squatting and a guy on the baseball team told me that I’m going to hurt myself going so low on my squats because it’s bad for your back. Not sure how he even learned the bad technique considering I haven’t ever seen anyone on that team do anything other than dig through a bucket of rice and sit and talk to each other on the bosu bals.

Sooo you saw me in Golds did you?

A skinnyfat guy wearing a 2pac T-Shirt was checking out his abs in the mirror despite sporting 20%+ BF and serious lovehandles. I was over on the incline bench shaking my head like “come on man, seriously? dont do this to yourself”. I presume he’d just seen pumping iron for the first time.

I felt stuck in retard zone yesterday…whenever the chalk buckets at the gym are empty, I tell an employee, and let them know if they’ll grab a couple blocks of chalk for me I’ll fill them up myself. Up until yesterday, that had always worked great…they were happy to keep chalk off their clothes and hands, I don’t mind taking the few extra seconds to do it. Yesterday…

Me: Both buckets are out of chalk, if you grab a few blocks I’ll fill them up for you
Him: Oh, ok goes onto gym floor and inspects chalk buckets, as if I was making it up
Me: as he’s walking back If you just grab the blocks of chalk for me I’ll handle it man
Him: Well, they’re blocks making gestures with his hands to show me what a block of chalk looks like
Me: I kn…nevermind go back to lifting while he gets the chalk

I was speechless…dude, I referred to them as BLOCKS of chalk twice in the conversation, I KNOW THEY ARE BLOCKS AND I THINK I CAN HANDLE IT

Sounds like that guy doesnt trust you with anything angular. Probably thinks you’ll stab someone with those sharp chalk edges.

Anyone else have this new thing where the thug lites will strip all their weight off except one 45lb plate on eeach side? Is it a new cool thing to do to make it seem like someone is still using the equipment, is it to show how uberswole they are and taking off those last two 45’s is too much? I do not understand

I see it a lot too. I think they just assume no one wants to use less weight than that. But I always start with just the bar if it’s my first exercise so it’s just that much more picking up after other people’s crap that I have to do.
