intense. nice somersault.

Was at the gym Friday. Did my Squat and DL work. Now I have depth issues but I work hard to get depth. When I finished in the rack this Trainer douche wearing tight (probably womens) pants begins to squat. He is kind of strong so as I finished my split squats I observe his squats. He fails to get even 1/4 depth with 135 but I figure he is just getting warmed up.

Nope he loads 225 now and proceeds to get about 1/4 down. Again I think he must be cold still. Nope 315 now and still not even close to a half squat. Then the douche loads 365.

The funny part is he gets some out of shape woman to spot him. He walks the weight out of the safety rack and hammers out the worst squats I have seen ever. The woman was grabbing his waste. Lucky for him he was doing partials cuz if he failed he would have been in a world of hurt. I wish I had of recorded it.

There has been a guy who, in the last couple weeks, has started to workout at the same time as me. He is a lifter / shadowboxer. He’ll do a crappy half-assed lift and then proceed to shadowbox or ā€œpunch for repsā€ while looking at himself in the mirror.
For some reason, it really annoys the crap out of me. It was funny at first, but now it is just distracting, as he doesn’t even do it out of the way, he will do it anywhere in the gym, even right next to you.
Is my annoyance justified, or do I just need to lighten up and laugh at him and move on?

At my gym there is 2 power cages back to back, arranged so if both are being used (rarely) one person would have to look past the other if he/she wanted to use the mirror. The other day I was squatting in the rear cage, and a kid asked if I minded if he used the cage in front of me. I said go ahead, since I usually only need the mirror to check depth and I was on work sets anyways.

So as I start my next set, the kid starts shadowboxing, he obviously had some training before, keeping his guard up and careful footwork, angled so he could watch the mirror as he swung. Then I noticed a pattern, As I lowered, he was throwing body shots, and as I came back up, he was throwing more head shots. Upon closer examination, he was actually using the reflection of my head as a target as I squatted. I then double-pumped a rep, he turned to me and kind of got red faced at being caught, but I just thought it was funny.

She obviously thought she was offering support because his old school super small belt was about to cut into his back fat.

This is great.

LOL, 2 BROS , 1 benching the other spotting, classic deadlifting the bar instead of ā€œspottingā€ but with a twist…ive never seen this before…the kid spotting used wrist straps wrapped around thebar…wtf

Last night a guy I know from work and the gym told me that I used to be chubby and now look leaner. I think he meant it as a compliment but that’s not how I took it! The only word that stuck in my head was chubby.[/quote]

He’s crazy, or maybe he like’s girls shaped like little boys.

We got in a minor disagreement a year or so ago, then your old pictures showed you were rather thin…

OBTW, you’ve made great progress in that time.

YES

Last week i finally had my chance.

One kid asked me to spot him on the bench with a weight he was nowhere near messing around.

He told me: ā€œ8 reps.ā€ I asked him if he wanted help to unrack and he said no.

First rep: Not touched his chest
Second rep: elbows flared up
Third rep: shaking a lot
Fourth rep: couldn’t press all the way up i had to help him
Fifth rep: he started getting purple and asked for help as he couldn’t budge the bar and quit afterwards.

I was on my deadlift day i was not in the mood to row the bar for every rep.

That’s pretty bad. I get a couple DB’s here and there, and occasionally one of the trainers leaves a barbell loaded on the bench press.

Of all the SRC moments a female in the weight room can have, that’s what you post?

Haha, it is! Sometimes certain dumbbells are completely MIA. I feel bad for the tiny chick that works at night that has to put it all back.
