this is a specific question, so i couldn’t really do a search for it.
i am relatively new to lifting (3 months in) and always seem to have trouble with squats. since i started lifting my lower back has gotten considerably stronger than it was before, but i still get relatively bad lower back pain from squats. i have done a lot of reading, mostly on this site on how to use proper form, and i feel i am doing it right. i go down to legs parallel or slightly lower.
on saturday i did 205lbs for 5x3reps on the squat. before this i had never done more than 175lbs(but that was with higher reps). it seems every time i go hard doing squats that i kill my lower back.
is this normal for a relative newbie?
maybe i am just increasing the weight too quickly?
my lower back is definitely holding me back when it comes to deadlifts and squats. is this something i should just be patient with, and in time the problem will go away?
any expert advice would be appreciated, thanks.
