Just ordered 3 bottles on Carbolin 19, and I currently take 1 Rez-V per day, so i’ll let you know what i think.

Got the last of my supps in the mail yesterday so that puts me in the green for starting this thing. I’ll post the initial weigh in and start the new program on Sunday.

Awesome, I kinda want to see how these two affect each other as well. Keep us updated.

“The people who fail are the ones that allow themselves to do so.”

That’s what I told my roommate last night when he asked why I was going to bed so early on a Saturday night. You see, I live in a fraternity house in southern Minnesota ? not exactly the most conducive environment to a clean and healthy lifestyle, but it’s where I call home and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Well, last night was the annual beer pong tournament and I opted to sit out for the first time in three years. I used to drink a lot until recently, but something really strange happened when I did the Velocity Diet; I stopped wanting to drink. I don’t mean that I realized it was bad for you, I already knew that. What I mean is that I no longer derive pleasure from alcohol ? at all.

Oddly enough, this newfound aversion to alcohol makes it much easier to wake up at 5:30 every day and go for a long walk and make breakfast before I have to work or go to class. It also makes it easier to sit out on the big tournament.

So this is how it started. Day -1 and I am already catching shit for what I’m doing. And oddly enough, I am completely okay with it.

“The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.” That one I stole from the “Strong Words” a couple days ago. It doesn’t make it any less true though.

Initial Stats: Day One

Age: 21
Hight: 6’0"
Weight: 178
Body fat: 7.45%
Waist: 34

Measurements:

Shoulders: 46.50
Chest: 37.25
Bicep: 12.50
Navel: 34.00
Thigh: 22.13
Calf: 15.13

I will record my weight, body fat %, and waist measurements each week, as well as posting final total body measurements at the end of the six weeks.

I’ve been taking a full dose of Carbolin 19 since the start of October, and I’ve been stacking the Carbolin 19 with the Rez-V now for two months.

As someone else mentioned in a prior post, the effects are not something you feel while on the Carbolin 19, but over time, I think the results show themselves either by body weight, numbers in the gym, or overall good training days. For me, it certainly wasn’t something I “felt.” In fact, I questioned if it was doing anything after the 3 month point because I didn’t really “feel” any different even though my body weight and appetite increased.

Now that said, after the 4 month point, I’ve gained roughly 10 lbs of muscle with zero gain in fat, and maybe there was even a slight reduction in fat. My appetite went through the rough though, and I’m pretty much hungry all the time.

I mainly added the Rez-V because I wasn’t feeling much from the Carbolin 19, that, and the many positves health benefits associated with it. Looking back at my training logs though, I have noticed a decent increase in my training numbers from the time that I did introduce the Rez-V into the mix.

So, the question becomes, was it the Carbolin 19 finally kicking in as they say, or did the inclusion of the Rez-V improve things. What I can tell you is this: my training has been very good and I seem to recover rather quickly, and I’m talking more from a health standpoint here. I have missed very few training days so far. I noticed that if I got sick, it didn’t hit as hard as it did the others, and when I was training really hard, I seemed to recover a little better than the others who weren’t taking them.

Overall, I plan on taking the two for another two months, then I’m going to take another look at things and make a decision then, but overall, I think the “feel” thing is a very true point, but I think you have to look at some other broader areas to find the overall benefits.

What did your kcal intake look like during this period? I am guessing you were eating above maintenance, but how much? This is pretty much what I am looking to accomplish and any insight would be greatly appreciated.

For the most part, I was eating a below maintenance diet, and I’d give myself one day a week to eat whatever I wanted, so to put an exact kcal avg per day would be tough. To give you an idea, on my day off, I’d eat anything and everything, and for the most part, I ate between 2700-3000 kcals on the my days I was watching my intake.

Damn, those are some awesome results for eating below maintenance! Between this post and today’s article, I can’t wait to start taking this stuff.

Thanks for the reply.

WEEK ONE: MEASUREMENTS

Weight: 177 lbs
Body fat: 6.50%
Waist: 33.5"

TOTAL CHANGE:

Weight: -1 lb
Body fat: -.95%
Waist: -.5"

THOUGHTS:

I LOST a pound? What the hell!? I attribute this mostly to increased activity level (lifting six days instead of the previous four) and the addition of HRX into my program (I am using it to ease into Carbolin 19 as stated earlier in the thread). Seriously though, while one week is definitely NOT enough time to draw any major conclusions, I am going to increase calories by 300-500 per day by adding some dried fruit and nuts throughout the day. Hopefully the scale will move in the other direction next week.

RANDOM THINGS:

I did not deviate from the meal plan at all this week, nor did I want to. This is most likely because eating every few hours makes it hard to think about food when I’m not eating.

Eating 7-8 times a day is the best thing that has ever happened to my scholastic career. By eating so often, I spend a lot of time at home during the day, which leaves me with tons of time to study. For the first time in four years I am actually ahead on my school work.

Although I really like morning walks, Minnesota is F’ing cold at 6AM. According to weather.com it was -10 this morning. Damn near got frost bite.

The trash can in my kitchen doesn’t have a lid, so in order to keep from smelling up my kitchen, I began throwing my vegetable stems and refuse in an empty Grow! container. I now own a homemade medicine ball that gets heavier by the day.

That’s it for the update, time to go lift.

WEEK TWO: MEASUREMENTS

Weight: 179 lbs
Body fat: 6.20%
Waist: 33.5"

CHANGE FROM LAST WEEK:

Weight: +2 lbs
Body fat: -.30%
Waist: N/C

TOTAL CHANGE:

Weight: +1 lb
Body fat: -1.25%
Waist: -.5"

THOUGHTS:
The scale went in the right direction this time and according to my measurements I am not gaining fat, so I think I have found my sweet spot.

This ends up being about 1,000 kcal above maintenance on high days, 600 above on mid days, and about 300 above on low days with macros around 40, 30, 30 PCF (low days are a little higher in fat though). I plan to stick with this for the next four weeks and see how it goes.

I also started taking Carbolin 19 yesterday so I will be updating this thread more often noting how I feel and possible effects of the supp.

That’s all for now…

Good diary. Keep it up.

Well, I’m about five days into taking Carbolin 19 at full dose and so far really nothing special to report. All I can say is that this seems to be a completely unobtrusive supplement. I have not experienced any noticeable immediate effects from taking it, but then again that it exactly what I expected. I know others who have tried this have reported an increase in appetite, but so far I have not experienced this (then again I am always hungry, even when eating 7-8 times a day)!

I actually like the fact that you can’t “feel” this stuff working - if it indeed does “work” then there is really no need to throw in excess stimulants to make people feel vindicated that they are taking it. On the contrary, it forces the user to evaluate its effectiveness through having all other variables in order (i.e. solid diet and training regimen) and looking at the long term trends. That’s really the only way to judge a program’s effectiveness anyways, whether it be a diet, training, or supplementation (in my opinion, anyways). Having said that, I am really looking forward to seeing my results over the coming weeks.

Sorry this post wasn’t more interesting, I am doing the best I can!

Stay tuned…

Your experience is what it should be. People who say they feel hungrier are just placebo wankers. The reason you DO get hungrier WEEKS later is because of an increase in LBM. More LBM = a faster metabolism. Hence, more hunger.

I’ve been taking Carbolin 19 since Dec. 2nd. The results have been wonderful. I suggest you take pictures TODAY. In 8 to 10 weeks you should notice a subtle - but pleasing - difference.

Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering why people were reporting increased hunger, but that makes complete sense.

As far as pictures go, I’m already on top of it. I learned a while ago while trying to lose weight that measurements are nice, but pictures and a mirror are a lot more telling.

Well, saying people that people who get hungry on Carbilin 19 are “placebo wankers” is a bit over the top, IMO! It’s dependant on a number of factors.

I actually know a guy that started taking Carbolin 19, full dose, and after two weeks, he was noticably more defined, and he said he was hungry all the time as well. He’s a Strongman, not ripped by any stretch, but certainly leaned out in a very short time period while eating more.

I’m not sure why making a connection with hunger and placebo wanking has anything to do with it. Everyone’s genetics are different. Some may feel more hungry faster because they have those tendancies with their genetics. Some may not feel more hungry and may lean out quicker. Some may get a little of both.

I think what Carbolin 19 does is magnify what your own potential is by a small percentage…that’s why they recommend taking it for a few months, and that’s why they say that the results may be subtle. For me, it’s magnified slightly what I already do well, and that’s put on mass. I can always get bigger. I’ll gain more muscle, but I’ll also gain some fat, that’s just my genetics. Now, while on Carbolin 19 for 4 months, I can say that it basically has done what I already could do on my own, maybe just at a slightly higher pace and maybe this time with no added body fat.

WEEK THREE: MEASUREMENTS

Weight: 182 lbs
Body fat: 6.83%
Waist: 34"

CHANGE FROM LAST WEEK:

Weight: +3 lbs
Body fat: +.53%
Waist: +.5"

TOTAL CHANGE:

Weight: +4 lbs
Body fat: -.62%
Waist: N/C

THOUGHTS:
Although body fat and waist measurements increased slightly this week, I think I actually look more defined than I did before. I am, however, unsure of the accuracy of these numbers for several reasons, including being sick for part of the week and going out for pizza last night (I don’t fuck around when I eat pizza, there’s probably some still kickin’ around in there somewhere). All in all though, I ate like a horse this week so the scale numbers are probably pretty accurate.

RANDOM THINGS:
I came to a pretty cool realization this morning:

I have gained about 14 lbs since coming off of the Velocity Diet (about two months ago) and I can still see my abs.

I honestly never really thought about that until I looked at my body comp log today (and the mirror). Not too shabby for a FFB. This makes me pretty happy and assures me that I am moving in the right direction.

Not much else to say, really. The journey continues…
