Spring Break Carbolin 19 Project

Last summer I decided that I was tired of being fat. I started on a moderate, long term diet and in the course of a year I went from a tubby 225 down to lean 170. I lost 55 lbs and 10" off my waist. Unfortunately, 170 lbs isn’t a whole lot of muscle for a guy with a 6’ frame, so I decided to give bulking a try, which failed miserably. Not taking my newfound FFB handicap in mind, I jumped straight into JB’s “Massive Eating” plan. The result was a 15 lb increase in six weeks along with a 9% increase in bodyfat (the net result was about a pound of muscle gain). At least I learned that you can?t go straight into bulking after a year of restricted eating (I used no transition whatsoever). I was getting fat again.

I stopped the bulk and resumed “normal” eating and hitting the weights hard hoping that some of that fat would get traded in for muscle, but it didn’t. Then in November I decided that I didn’t do all that work the past year to be getting fat again. It seems to be in my nature to do things on a whim, so I did the Velocity Diet. I was highly skeptical but I did it anyways. I lost 22 lbs in 28 days and between 7-8% bodyfat. I guess it worked. It’s been a little over a month since I came off the diet and now I am ready to start putting on some mass in preparation for spring break (I?m a college student). The difference is that this time, I am going to be smart about it.

I have wanted to try Carbolin 19-19 since it came out but never have due to the fact that every time I run a search on it, I get a lot of vague forum posts with little or no information on what type of dietary and training protocols were being used with it. So I decided to do my own experiment and post it here. I will include weekly stats, diet, training, and supplement information, as well as any mood fluctuations or other side effects and update at least once a week, probably more.

When I went on the Velocity Diet, I found Chris Shugart and Dan John’s blogs to be particularly helpful and I figure that maybe this thread can help those interested in trying Carbolin 19-19 for themselves. More importantly though (and probably the main reason I am posting this), this thread will help me stick to the plan, even if I do get “un-shredded” in the process.

The basic idea is that I will be taking the full dosage (4 caps per day) while eating above maintenance level (not sure how much yet) and training six times per week for a total of six weeks. I plan on following the same peri-workout nutrition protocol as the “FFB Surge Experiment,” and cycling carbs to keep fat gains at bay. I will post more specifics once I get started and have all the details worked out. If all goes according to plan, I should be able to gain a substantial amount of muscle while maintaining my new found leanness.

Besides, if I fail and get fat I’ll just do the Velocity Diet again.

I start Sunday.

Ha! Love it.

Good luck man and definitely keep us posted on your results.

yeah good luck it sounds like you got everything laid out this time. especially a backup plan for unwanted fat haha l8rz

I had a little case study going for let it go because of the lack of apparent interest. I’ll give a little recap here though.

I took the minimum dosage for 8 weeks, and the max dosage for 2 weeks, all while eating to gain weight(roughly 500 over maintenance I would say). I thought the supplement did a GOOD job of helping to ward off fat gains, which is saying a lot actually. I definitely did not lose fat and gain muscle at the same time (I didn’t expect it to happen, who does ??)

Overall I really like the supplement but since I am a cheap bastard have a hard to justifying the 60/month price tag. If price is NOT an issue for you, I would recommend Alpha Male due to the other proven compounds in it. If that is a little too much Carbolin 19 on the full dosage is a very good supplement in my opinion.

Carbolin 19 is Biotest’s best supplement. (I’ve tried them all.) It gets less attention because a person doesn’t feel “on” anything. People base their buying decisions on “feelings.” Hence, why that NO2 crap is so popular. It’s just a slow-and-steady compound. But it works.

This makes no sense. If the supplement works, find the money. If memory serves me, you’re a waiter. When I waited tables, $60 would be a lunch close, and an hour of work into a dinner shift. If you’re not averaging $40 on lunch and over $100 on dinner, quit your job and wait tables elsewhere.

In any event, 40 mg is effective, thus lowering the cost to $30. Seems like a good buy, even for a “cheap bastard.”

I always found Carbolin 19 to be effective. Alpha Male even more effective for me at least. The extra money for the Alpha Male is worth it if you are looking for a T-Booster.

Thanks for the input so far. My reasoning behind posting this a week in advance was to get some feedback on it before I start so I appreciate it. I’m 21 and don’t want to mess with any T-Boosters yet, but it’s something to think about as I get older. Having said that, I got the training and diet part of the plan finalized today so here goes:

455, 44g pro, 20g carb, 21g fat

DAILY TOTALS:
2753 kcal, 285g pro, 93g carb, 135.5g fat

This is the basic outline of what my week will look like. I plan on following JB’s 90% rule as I believe it is what has allowed me to keep the weight off from the Velocity Diet while maintaining sanity. It’s a great system. I will document any changes or deviations from the training or diet as they occur.

Note: I only have one month’s supply of Carbolin 19 and I wish to make the most of it. Therefore, instead of transitioning into it as recommended (start by taking 1 capsule twice per day) I am going to take 2 caps of HRX per day for the first week, 4 caps of HRX for the second week, and then jump into 4 caps of Carbolin 19 per day for weeks 3-6. This should work since HRX has Carbolin 19 in the formula, and I have some left over from when I did the Velocity Diet.

Best of luck  I’ll do my best to check in on you and make sure you’re keeping yourself honest.

Without starting a fight in the middle of the guys thread, I’ll just say that of all the things I need to buy (Food, gas, school tuition, books, girlfriend…) supplements are right about the bottom of the list for me. I did stock up on Fish oil and REZ-V however.

I see your point though, and appreciate your input. I might consider giving Carbolin 19 another 12 week cycle or so and me and this guy can keep a double case study going. Might be interesting.

It would be fun to get some more people in on it, you wanna try it out CaliforniaLaw? Who else would be interested?

I would consider it, but I would have to buy more Carbolin 19 first.
I do have a bottle of the new Alpha Male though.

I hadn’t really planned to try the Carbolin 19 again as I am starting the BBB and nutrition program from CW’s new book. He recommends adding in some BCAAs throughout the day and since I haven’t used them before I thought I would gauge their effectiveness for the next couple weeks.

But now you have me thinking as I am prone to excess fat gain when on a bulk.

[quote]Lonnie123 wrote:

You are too young to be on REZ-V. This is not a wise way to spend your money.

I’ve been taking Carbolin 19 since Dec. 2d. I have a thread. I don’t have it bookmarked, though it should be easy to find via Google.

Looks like a solid plan to me. I’m currently following the anabolic diet myself. Good luck with it. One thing as a younger guy (turning 21) that I need to remind myself of once in a while which might help you:

All of the supplements and training/diet organization are great (and necessary for some people like me)…but they mean nothing if you don’t put in the work training.

Get after it!

[quote]CaliforniaLaw wrote:

Say what? Given REZ-V’s myriad potential health benefits, along with the estrogen blocking properties, how is it you’re lumping it in as an age thing? I’d be more prone to chalk that kind of sentiment up to TRIBEX or Alpha Male.

College students don’t need to be on Viagra. College men not on testosterone boosters do not require an anti-estrogen.

Age matters.

You state it like fact, but there’s ample room to debate those points – even outside of the other potential health benefits of the supplement. Nor are they age-related. These aren’t instant fix-it tabs, but best applied long term as part of a solid nutritional program.

By that logic, young men without heart problems don’t need to worry about eating healthy. A broader viewpoint might say that it’s best for a young man to develop healthy eating habits to benefit his long-term health.

…y’know what? Fuck it. I’m nitpicking over a point on age, when in the broad strokes, I agree with you. If Carbolin 19 is a financial stretch, I wouldn’t rush to recommend Rez-V to someone.

I couldn’t agree with you more. Intensity and attitude are definitely key qualities in any program (whether it be training or otherwise) and although I do my best, sometimes it gets hard to give 100% day in and day out, especially without a dedicated training partner. Hopefully the fact that I am posting my results will help me to push even harder over the next several weeks.

I actually only take 1 Rez-V a day. I’m not so much concerned with the anti-E effects as I am the effects that resveratrol seems to have long term. It ends up being 10 bucks a month or so, which I can definitely afford for the benefits it affords.

i started taking T booster at 20 & noticed its benefits, as well as its side-effects - i got awesome backne & sore nips so i got off it.

i cant take an anti-est / aromatose supp due to drug testing. i train a total of about 15hrs (Boxing, MT, Wrestling, BJJ, Strength, Sprints etc.) & work 2 jobs for a total of 60hrs (on paper), including 2 night-shifts bouncing on Fri & Sat nights. ill prob get back on something similiar soon…

Enough about me and my supps, we can discuss that in a PM if it really concerns anyone, lets get back to the post at hand.

Do keep this log updated. It will be good for the Nation, and good for yourself to have some accountability. We will all be watching you. Hell, I may even join in.

Out of experience, did anyone feel a synergetic effect by using Carbolin 19 & REZ-V?
