Split Renegade W'outs & GPP

Due to time, or lack of it, I have had to split my Renegade workouts into 2 a day. I usually do my hurdles, tumbling, rope work and non-weighted GPP during the day. Then in the evening I do my kettle bell work, weights and core work. My question is, should I do GPP immediately after my afternoon workout or before my evening workout? Does it matter? Thanks.

In your case do at the start of the evening session. Remember our goals of on-ice performance. In faith, Coach Davies

Speaking of on-ice performance, what should I be focusing on to improve this? Anything specific? Does tempo matter? Thanks Coach.

Coach Davies, i play junior A and I am in the middle of training camp. Basically we just practice on ice 4 days a week and run a couple miles maybe once or twice a week. What could I do renegade training wise in between all this to build some strength and explosiveness? Or is that not possible w/ all the work I already do?

As we progress through Level 1 and through Levels 2 - 4, you will see the on-ice (SPP) component emerge and become the total focus of your program. Hmm, looks like we have to get “Team-Renegade” together for a scrimmage. : ) In faith, Coach Davies

It isn’t advisable to mention your teams name but I do have a clients in your league. Unfortunately, I wouldnt be recommending the distance work you are doing right now. Fill me on how on-ice speed is right now as well as your general length of shifts. In faith, Coach Davies

I am all for a scrimmage!

Coach, by tempo I meant tempo of the lifts. When I am doing the big lifts (squats, bench, etc.) what is the tempo? I have been doing slow down and exploding up, probably something like 401. Is this right?
