Just wondering if anyone takes this or has ever taken it and what you have to say about it. Seems very new-age/hippie, looks to me like something the 100lbs guys would take at my gym who do inverted-bosu-ball-squats-of-the-rainbow-pony, but when I took a look at the ingredients and whatnot I started doubting this because it contains quite some protein and other stuff I’d like to have in my body + there are a lot of claims about it helping you in other ways as well (for example, bowel movements/energy/concentration).

Any insight on this?[/quote]
I just bought a trial pack of some chlorella the other week. Having done a bit of research in the area i thought i’d give it a try. Some of the quoted health claims are impressive but i’m sceptical as to whether they are all true.
Also, there is a problem with possible contamination of some of these algae supplements with toxins which made me think twice about getting some. But i made sure i got a good quality GMP tested brand so it should be ok.
Spirulina and chlorella are excellent whole food multi-vitamins. Really shouldn’t evoke hippies on bosu balls and if more meatheads ate the stuff they would have better bowel function, vitamin/mineral status, and generally healthier lives as they are both chelators of metals and organo-phosphates. Sure beats the hell out of a crappy synthetic multivitamin tablet like most people are taking. Actually gives me a bit of a workout boost in stamina personally.
