I also had a 1, 2, and 3 board at my office when I got in today! How cool!

My brother and I left Monday afternoon to drive to Oklahoma for my Grandmother’s funeral. 50 hours there and back, 25 in the car, 15 spent with family and funeraling, 10 spent showering and sleeping.

I’m wrecked.

Planning on upper body today. We’re getting a blizzard, and I’m not sure if the gym will be open or accessible when I leave the office.

I fell asleep sitting up at 8:45 last night, and woke up this morning at 8:40!!

Skwatz:

Box squats: 5x135, 3x185, 1x225 (belt and knee sleeves), 1x245, 1x265, 1x275, 0x285. I love the knee sleeves. The last three squats, my ass touched the box, but I didn’t really relax the hips enough.

Deadlifts: 5x135, 3x5x235

Glute Hams: 6x6

DB rows: 3x15x40 lb DB

Hanging leg lifts: 3x10

Farmers walk with ~72.5/hand: 10 minutes. Extra points for avoiding the children milling about in the hallway. Get out of my way or I will clip you! (I only clipped one kid, and he looked okay.)

Upper body tomorrow, including speed benching, unless I hear otherwise from El Coach.

Did you do all the box squats with just knee sleeves and a belt? You really like the sleeves? I may invest in a pair. I’m going to auction my newly regained virginity for mucho cash to buy cool gear, like a better bench shirt.

Why are all the kids milling around? My father always used to say getting clipped in the head with a dumbell will give you hair on your chest. So it’s all good. Okay he didn’t say exactly that but he did say a lot of similar stuff so I’m sure it applies here.

I think there were kids everywhere because it was Saturday. Little bastards.

I am training fully raw (USAPL raw allows belt, knee sleeves, and wrist wraps) for my next two meets. Then I will go equipped again from July on.

I like the knee sleeves. I don’t feel much in the way of pop, but I feel more secure.

hahaha. This reminds me of something my mother told me and my best friend over the weekend. We were discussing different forms of birth control and she pointed at me and said “The pill doesn’t work if you only take it every few days and try to play ‘catch up’ with the pills when you do remember”… I feel so loved. I knew I was an oops, but to put it that way…

I played around with snatches, around 70 lbs on the short barbell. I really enjoy snatches, but I need someone to show me how to do a snatch properly.

Then, 10 min of farmers walks with 45s, 15 minutes at 15 degrees at 2-2.5 mph on the dreadmill.

I forgot to add 4 minutes of tabata squats with the bar yesterday as well.

Today:

RDLs: 10xbar, 8x135, 4x6x185

Pistol squats with blue band: 8, 6, 8

Power curtsies: 6x135, 6x225, 6x315, 6x365, 6x405

Various calf raises while some 19 year old flirted with me and hubby laughed.

Haha! Look what you walked into!

So far, I’ve only done USAPL meets. The Rocky Mountain Lifting Club (www.rmlccolorado.com) is involved with all the USAPL in Colorado. The next meet is the EAC Powerplay in Glenwood Springs. Then, there is one at the Air Force Academy the first week of August. Colorado State Championships are in early December.

I know several NASA guys, and I’ve heard rumors of a WABDL contingent, but I don’t know when those meets are specifically. I think the NASA meets are generally within a week or two of the USAPL meets, so I wouldn’t be doing them anyway.

Let me know if you’re doing a meet…introduce yourself and say “hi” and I will glare at you because I’m half blind and a little slow on meet days!

Thursday:

Bench Press: 10x45, 5x95, 5x115, 5x5x135, 10x45. I am widening my grip with these and feel it a lot more in my chest.

Push Press: 6x65, 2x8x85, 3x5x95 (I love these, but I guess I should do other shoulder work too…)

Triceps pushdown: 10x70, 8x80, 5x90

Weighted planks: 4x30 seconds with 70 lbs.

No back or biceps work yesterday…I am going climbing with a Bench Press Queen on Sunday and want to have some back function.
