Some notes:

*Schedule has been stupid hectic lately, and was rundown, so I took 5 days off from lifting and cardio. Feel/look much better now
*Started IF eating kind of. I’ve used it before to get lean, and feel I lose better with carbs in a small window (bro-science) plus I’m not as hungry eating everything in an 8 hour window
*Need some ideas for refeeds, low fat, high carb. I hate oats, so all I got right now in mind is rice and ice cream, though I’m trying to keep dairy lower.
What’s the reason behind keeping dairy lower if I may ask? I notice a lot of people talking about keeping it to 1 serving per day…
Bloating and water Retention would be my guess. Doesn’t quite agree wiht him

Yeah, I mean honestly doesn’t hurt my stomach all too much as long as I just use it in moderation. But I know bowel movements are better with less dairy for me at least, which for me is an indicator it may not be great for me.

Also, like Ryan said, water retention. Kind of ‘blurs’ my abs, seems like I hold on to a layer of water when I drink milk regularly or go h.a.m. on some ice cream.

I’m sorry, bro.

So still behind conditioning wise, and today is the 7 weeks out mark.

Things are going to get tough. Energy is definitely less then stellar. Plus the mental hang up of feeling so ‘small’ is tough.

I’m very much trying to look at this as an ‘experience’ and such, but this is definitely difficult. lol

Also, changing my split to a push/pull/legs split, that I will rotate over 5 days. I like to do the whole ‘heavy/lower rep/compound day’ and the ‘pump/higher rep/iso’ days, so if anyone has some suggestions and such, let me know!

I can see it.

What’s happening diet wise?

Basically carb cycling.

2 high days (200g)
3 medium days (100g)
2 low days (0g)

Fuck me sideways…0 carbs

@Jake

IMO you went low carb too fast.
Kevin handles carb extremely well. Especially since in the off season he was eating 450g of carbs.

Obviously too late in the prep but I think a low fat/high-moderate carb approach would have been better on most days. But given him one or two high fat/low carb days a week.

Tried that. His weight stalled and he was not feeling good. Got to get some momentum going here.

I know this really sucks, but sometimes I really gotta play the bad guy I suppose. We tried many different ways of moving things around to keep carbs as high as possible.

And about the 450g of carbs…that was very short-lived. I’m sure Spidey can agree that he would’ve gotten fat pretty fast if we stayed on that track.

I appreciate your honest feedback. It keeps me on my feet and making sure I’m making decisions for the right reason.

Looks fine to me, then again I love low carb diets lol.

Don’t get frustrated/dis-enchanted about “shrinking.” Think of it as chiseling the marble. You will shrink to a point and then “get bigger” as your shoulders, back, and other muscles start to stand out. Its kind of a find muck of an illusion and pretty cool. That’s what leaning out has taught me.

Also, losing weight is difficult. I think for first timers trying to get especially lean it takes longer than expected, but once you “teach” your body the process it happens easier subsequently (that and learning your body). Just my broscience for the morning. Good luck, keep it up!

Yep I agree with him.

For what it’s worth here are some other tips.

You will be in front of an audience, to some degree as entertainment, as such you need to prepare your mind in the coming weeks and burn these few thing into your memory.

a.) remember to take your “before show shit.”

b.) remember to breathe & don’t lock your knees

c.) Before you go on stage you have to look in the mirror and say your three S’s
Star, smile, strong.

d.) remember to have a ball, not everyone has two arms, two legs and your height. You are blessed. There may be better physique competitors in the country but there is only one YOU.

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words.

So have a pretty nasty case of food poisoning. Very bad, and most I think I’m going to b able to get down is some soup maybe.

But regardless, Happy Labor Day to all of ya’ll, enjoy it!

Is there a calorie floor that you are using with his diet. I.E. you don’t go below “X” amount of calories at any time during the diet? Just curious! Thanks
