I think because it just doesn’t have a lot of ROM, I need more upper pec, etc. I mean the Decline BB seems to be a weird exercise anyways. Like I love it, Phil Hernon and Dorian Yates are fans, yet it seems like it’s rarely used. [/quote]

FWIW,

Glass and Armstrong (1997) examined the level of pectoral muscle activation between the decline press and incline press. They found that the decline press activated more lower pec fibers compared to the incline press, while the level of upper pec activation was similar between both lifts.

and reverse grip bench activates the upper pecs more than both

Reading the past few pages I dont think you give yourself enough credit and won’t need to lose as much as 30 lbs to be ready for physique.

I lost just under 25 and was waaaaay fatter than you lol

Good, tiring workout today. Tried different foods pre-WO, with some potatoes as carbs, and I started to lose intensity near the end of the workout. So looks like I’m sticking with Pop-Tarts and PB lol

Tomorrow morning is first day of hill sprints, hopefully that’s not the worst thing ever. (Spoiler Alert: They will be)

Lol at reverse grip benching.

Good looking workout man

Thanks man. It’s funny because I use to think hitting back with this much volume, even once a week (let alone twice) would be too much, and it’s not even that much volume.

And it’s now that I’ve been upping the volume that I’ve actually put on some size.

Earlyyy morning workout.

In Kev’s defense, 170 was my guestimation. He showed me some pics from last years comp, and those guys get shredded. In general, conditioning standards for physique have been getting harsher IMHO. At my show, over half the physique competitors were pretty much just a few weeks from BBing conditioning standards. Hell, I had striations in my glutes the night before my show. Interesting how things progress in this sport.

I’d like to get Spidey down to 6% so there’s no question in the judges minds he’s in it to win it.

Kev? lol. Is Spidey’s name Kevin?!

It just seemed crazy to me that I will have dropped less weight than him to get into similar condition when he is waaaay leaner than I was when I started, then again he may just hold fat a lot better than I.

It’s good you are gonna get him peeled, it genuinely makes you grow as a person lol.

You americans…

LOL Ya’ll have found my secret identity. Actually, my name is Kevin Spencer lol. I go by Kevin, Kev, Spencer, Spence, or Kevin Spencer lol. It’s odd.

So yesterday, was hectic. I was driving to a friends house, and my truck basically broke. luckily I got it fixed, but I was stranded for some time, and had to take a detour before arriving at my friends. So eating was very difficult, luckily I had packed protein powder and my shaker bottle. Got little sleep. Anyways, hit legs hard today. Felt good.

I didn’t do updates, because diet started last Sunday. So i post pics tomorrow, but I’m not sure if Jake would prefer Saturday or Sunday updates, seeing as you’re busy as of late.

Good work Spidey.

Im following your progress closely. You make me proud. It only feels like yesterday when I was helping you in your training log.

Sorry if its obvious, but I had a quick look, and I couldnt find the macros your using for your cut???

Saturday is best. Your show’s also on a Saturday too, so that works.

my thoughts exactly.

can anyone sell me on the benefit of this exercise?

it would have to blow away about 20 other exercises to get a look in wouldn’t it?interested to know who would use this and how it would fit into a routine?

That does seem like such a long time ago, in my old log. Glad you’re in for the ride though, Bird!

Macros this week were 450g C/ 220g P/ 80g F on training days, and knock 100g C off on days not training. But they are adjusted through out.
