Spidey: Back in Black

Still drinking sweet tea?

Thanks for the advice guys. I’m just going to keep trucking, take on a much more “Fuck Shit Up” approach and just see what happens.

And Birdy, of course! Haha

Bench Upper

Flat BB: Felt alright today. 3 sets + 1 rest-pause set
185x3x6
185x8+4+2 = 14

Incline BB: Piston style, only 90 sec rest
135x3x8

Pull-ups: Dead-stop reps. 90s rest
+25x3x4-6

Was short on time so tri-setted my last bit

BB Rows: From a deficit, so I could get a stretch and constant tension and all that jazz
135x3x10

Laterals:
15’sx3x15

Band Face Pulls: these worked really well surprisingly
3x25

So that was it. I have a progression plan in mind for the main lifts from a program I made a while back, but really just going in and going to get more work in each time for now. On all the assistant lifts, I’m going to mostly up sets or lower rest periods before upping weight, because as I’ve said I’ve been really worn out lately. Figured that would manage intensity. I’ll obviously add weight/reps when necessary, but looking at Plain Pats, Ryan’s, and Chobbs logs I’ve looked at the weights and kind of seen that I’m emphasizing non-foundational stuff, so I need to cut that. By the time I’m done with this, I should be ending my cut, working full time at my new job, and be a bit more set.

Deffintely the one thing we could all agree from all of us that you were looking at in logs would be that its deffinetely better to spend the most amount of time on the big stuff.

Id much rather spend an hour-hour and a half squatting then I would do 20 mins of squatting then proceed to hammer assistance for 2 hours. Spend the time of the big stuff that matters most, the other stuff is assistance for a reason. If it doesn’t build muscle mass, symmetry, work capacity, or prehab theres not much justifiable reason to do it.

All assistance stuff does all those things lol

No no I mean like if you have to put more focus on one of two things either main work or assistance work obviously the main work is a lot more important than sets of rear delts or stuff like that

In other news:

Yesterday I did a 24 hour fast. Just thought I would, it was really easy honestly.

Today was a cheat day, macros roughly are like 650/240/120 right now lol

Do you wanna have an Interwebz mandate and try and eat a 1,000 carbs in a day

Hell yeah dude!

Shit we could do one IRL. I mean Indy is like half way for both of us haha

BTW, I gained like 6 lbs from last night. I’m actually happy about this. When I cut, sometimes eating enough to where I gain weight in a day kind of seems to get some momentum, like I’ll drop back down to my ‘real’ weight and then continue on dropping past that.

Also, my fucking scale may just be broken. Like 2 days ago, I weighed myself in the morning at 207, was in my bed for like 2 hours reading, weighed myself again, and I was like 201 lolololololol

I just want an excuse to binge eat…how about this upcoming Monday? I’ll post how I made it to 1k and I wanna see what everyone else ate too.

Plain Pat: Do you ever come near Chobbs and I? I live in the Louisville area.

Chobbs: How about Wednesday/Thursday? That’s my usual cheat day area lol

Why can’t everyone just live in western pa…

BTW, picture this morning after a low carb day (>100g).

Somehow back to 210, I’m basically just recomping. I mean this is the ‘biggest’ I’ve been (I’m mostly legs and I’m tall, so 210 is still pretty lanky), but my cut is not getting me to as lean as I wanted, just from so many things changing during it. Just want to drop like 10-15 lbs and hopefully lose the love handles.

Pics in here are to just keep me honest

[quote]budreiser wrote:

It looks like we all need to meet in Central Ohio. Middle ground lol

Back Squat Lower

Jump Squats: So I always talk about how unexplosive I am. This may be the cure
135x3x3

Back Squats: Beltless, watched Jay Nera’s Squat video and just like fixed my shit
265x4x6

Deficit DL’s: Did these kind of oddly, I’ll explain below
335 for 12 total reps @ 7:30 mins

Paused Split Squat: 1 min rest between each leg
135x3x8

Banded Leg Curls:
Orangex2x20

So not trying to jynx myself, but I’m feeling back into my groove now. Few notes:

  1. So I know why I was feeling like shit. I eat significantly more on training days as opposed to off days. So when I added the farm work, plus dropping to 4x a week lifting, I was doing a lot more + a lot less calories weekly. Dumb

  2. So the Deficit Deads I did the however many in 7:30 mins, because that’s basically the amount of ‘rest’ I would have had to do my sets. However, I use a hook grip, and sometimes my thumbs go numb, so I need to like let go and let blood get back in there lol. Plus, I want these explosive, and grinding ANY reps on DL’s usually rapes me, so this just kind of prevents that too.

  3. Weighted Jump Squats genuinely like ‘woke me up’. I need something like that for upper body. Medicine ball throws I’ve heard are good, I don’t have that nor somewhere to really throw them. Plyo Push-ups really don’t do it for me either, just as regular ‘jumps’ don’t wake my CNS or whatever up. Regardless, I rarely feel explosive, but theses did the trick

I’m going full retard right now but ya Thursday works great
Edit: tell me everyone meeting in Ohio, training, and visiting the elite fts compound wouldn’t be legit as fuck

if we become friends we can hang out… I go to moravian college, down in bethlehem. About a mile from lehigh.

Central Ohio would be an idea to toy with, if we could all go train in the elitefts compound thatd be legendary

I have to be honest, this made me laugh. I kinda thought it was common sense that farm work takes a ton out of you. Like an extra 5000 calories a day out of you.

What kind of work are you actually doing there? What kind of farm?

LOL training at EliteFTS would be sweet! But lawd I’d be so embarrassed lifting my weights next to someone burying 600+ lbs Squats lol

OHP Upper

Incline Plyo Pushups: Basically trying to throw myself back up to standing vertically. Worked great.
4x3

OHP: Still trying to get the hang of these.
100x3x6
100x9+4+3 = 16

Spoto Presses: Genuinely these suck donkey dick. My lats, triceps, and chest all cramp up from just the 2 sec pause. jeez. 2 min rest
145x3x10

Chins: LOL my lats were so fatigued from the Spoto’s that I just did what I could to get 40 reps total. Took like 5-6 sets

DB Hernon Rows:
50’sx3x12

Lying EZ Extensions: these are at an incline
35x3x20-25

BB Curls:
55x100 total reps

So that was it. Good workout. I may start sipping on some carbs intra-WO again. I go back and forth doing this. It seems to make a difference sometimes depending on the style of workout, and I feel these kinds may benefit from some extra fuel.
