SPF Elite Total?

660 beltless at bw 195

Why didn’t you do the meet, brother? I was looking for you (no homo).

It’s going to be incredibly hard to hit depth with a stance that wide squatting. You need to bring that in or have the mobility of a god. Regardless it’s multiple inches high. When you DL and round your back that much, it’s going to help you off the floor, but be really hard to lock out. Some things to think about.

I’ll agree with the Squat comment to a extent Deepsquats but he pulls 700plus raw at under 198lbs I think he has his dead lift figured out my friend.

The 660 looks a little better(and obviously a fully clean lockout) but I think he has room for a bit more growth still. Or if he wants to pull that way for his training career, I’d just work extra hard on the lockout, as it’s always going to be the limiting factor with that style of technique. It’s something pretty common I see from guys that transitioned from SM deadlift to powerlifting. I think the answer is somewhere in the middle, where I feel right now he’s on the extreme of one end in terms of being rounded vs being vertical. I think being slightly more vertical would help lockout a bit and not give much off the floor and probably make the lift a little more consistent, but that’s just my take.

The 475x5 looks a bit better, but you’re still running into some mobility problems that are preventing you from squatting deeper with that stance width. I’d say its 3 inches high personally. I’d try to sit back a little more(nothing crazy like you’re in gear, just get the shin a little more vertical.) As you increase that forward knee travel, you’re lowering your knee and thus requiring your hip/top of quad(depending on fed) to go lower to have the same relative height to the knee.

His 475 video is nowhere near 3 inches high. Those squats were all fine and squatting any deeper is pointless.

They wouldn’t pass in the USAPL or IPF. I’m not going to get into a depth battle, however if someone wants to compete, it’s a whole lot simpler to squat to depth for all feds, instead of just “SPF deep.” Therefore if OP ever wants to compete in another fed that is strict, he’d be good to go.

No need for a argument its not 3in high by any feds standards. Its not Ass to Grass but he has broken parallel here.

Very nice! remember to control the bar down at the meet. I’
d hate to see you get all jazzed like that and toss the bar down and be red lighted :frowning:

Looks high to me although that could possibly be the angle of the photo. If it is high, it’s definitely not 3" high.

I’d say 9/10 USAPL/IPF judges aren’t going to pass that. And that was one of the better reps, there are some ones that are much higher. Not hating on OP at all, still very strong, just a little more tuning to make it bulletproof.

You’re right that the depth was not consistent in the set of 5, but that one that Reed has pulled out as a still is clearly hip crease below knees.

You probably shouldn’t have said something ridiculous about the depth then…

That still frame of the squat above wouldn’t be red lighted in any USAPL meet I’ve ever seen.

Also, I haven’t been to a ton of SPF meets, but at least the ones in my area are pretty much always judged by Joe Ladnier. Go ahead and try to squat high in front of him. He will red light the shit out of anyone all day long if they don’t hit actual depth.

I will second Reed’s statement as well that I find it really weird and uncomfortable that you’re giving The Alderson deadlift tips…

CSULLI’S GOING OFF, I’M HIDING.

Here is my meet from Saturday
