Spaniac's Training

Thanks for raining on my deadlift parade ;D

Seriously, those DLs are wicked, along with the pistols

Parades, by definition, are lengthy arrays and succession. We are part of the same parade!

Working in a resort like that would be fun!
Thats along the idea I had in my head when becoming certified…
NOT being a salesperson in a commercial gym.

Stopping in to say hi!
Your lifts and training are very inspiring.

MIM: I hear what you are saying, and I am trying my hardest not to end up just selling gym memberships. I really LIKE strength and conditioning, but more realistically, I will probably end up in corporate fitness or cardiac rehab. Time will tell!

LS: Thanks! It’s always encouraging to hear that!

OHP
35x5 45x4 45x3 55x5 60x5 70x11
3-4 chins inbetween OHP (I lost track of total though)

Incline BP: 20x5 35x10 35x10 35x9
Seated Cable Row: 60x8 70x10 70x10 65x10

Wood choppers: 60x10 60x10 60x10

Conditioning: 6 rounds of 8 hand walk outs, 100 revs on jump rope, 10 push ups, 100 jumping jacks;
~1 minute of rest inbetween.

Hrmmm, should be sleeping, but can’t. SO I log

Squat
45x7 95x5 120x5 145x3 175x3 195x3 220x8 195x4 175x6

Good mornings: (note that the gym was so hot the bar was sliding off my back/shoulder area)
45x7 85x6 115x7 115x7 95x10 95x10
Split Squats from a deficit (holding DBs):
20x6 25x5 30x10 30x10 30x10

Conditioning: a Body Attack class (gag me) in what felt like a hot yoga studio (or at least what I imagine it to feel like). It’s for a grade, I have no choice - though aside from the conditions of the room, I didn’t mind it all that much in terms of cardio.

Squats felt ok - the heat is awful even at 4 in the afternoon. I don’t know what to do about this.

With the numbers you’re posting I’d say the squats must have felt okay.

You have a lot of talent.

220x8?
yikes!! Thats BIG!

body attack sounds better than body PUMP!

Thank you ladies. I guess I said it was ok, because I really felt like shit. It’s the week before my period and I can never get the charge to push myself like I would normally - plus the heat.

And Body Attack is much better than Body Pump…though my preference is toward Body Combat, because I like to pretend I’m a badass kickboxer - because kick boxing is badass.

Bench
45x5 55x5 70x5 85x3 100x3 110x3 125x8/9 95x8
Neutral grip chins inbetween - sets of 3

Single Arm Rows:
25x5 35x7 45x8 50x6 50x6 45x8

Lat pulldown:
80x10 80x10 85x10 85x10
Superset with…
Dips:
10 10 10 10

Conditioning: Jump rope for 25-30 minutes…took 1 minute breaks after every 4-5 minutes for 5 total sets.

The last rep of the bench was awful, and I think I had a bit of help from my spotter. 8 isn’t a PR, but those 8 felt good, and I still felt like shit in there today. I just didn’t feel like lifting.

Excited for my much needed day off tomorrow where I’m going to Raleigh to enjoy restaurant week with my best friend from home (Niagara Falls). We are hitting up a seafood place - they have a $20 meal option where you get an appetizer, entree, and dessert from a select menu. All I know is sea bass is on the menu - might be my favorite seafood - and I haven’t had it since I was in Seattle in October of 2009.

Way to work through the lifting blahs!! Enjoy your day in Niagra  Sounds refreshing and delish!!

that’s some good volume on the bench and throw in those chins…good work!

I like Thursdays because it’s deadlift day.

Deadlift
45x6 110x5 135x5 160x3 190x3 215x3 245x8

Deficit Deads:
155x6 185x5 185x5 155x6 135x8
Pistols:
10 10 10 (each leg, duh)
Back Extension w/ 15lbs (back felt blah today - probably from the near 2 hours in the car earlier)
15 15 15

Conditioning: 10 sprints, walked inbetween

Walked into the gym feeling a bit underwhelmed - not bad, just not pumped up to deadlift. I felt tired, but as I went through my reps, I didn’t get more tired. I stopped at 8 because I knew that 9 would have come up with terrible form - and I’m still worried about my back - don’t want to herniate those disks again. Weird thing was, is I herniated them in the first place during a landing from doing bounders, not deadlifting.

As a side note, I left the dog with my roommates last night, who aren’t what I would call reliable, but I made sure he was safe in his area of my room and the hallway. I come back this morning and he chewed out his stitches from his side (again). Not panic-worthy, since it’s all healed and he was supposed to get those and the ones in his belly out tomorrow - but geesh, what a little genius that dog is.

So busy - can’t find time for much - barely enough time and energy to work out. School is getting heavy, and I’m exhausted all the time.

Good news! Nate, out of the kindness of his heart, got me a membership to the super awesome powerlifting gym - East Carolina Barbell - for the next 3 months. No more sweltering heat and stupid people in the weight room. Not only does this gym not have ONE piece of cardio equipment, it also has 2 prowlers, 2 tires, hammers, kettlebells, ropes, bags, kegs, stones, bands, chains, and oh so much more!

Squat
45x7 95x5 120x5 145x3 180x5 205x3 230x6 205x4 180x7

Good mornings: 45x6 85x6 125x7 135x6 135x6 125x7 95x8
Deficit Split squats w/ 30 lbs: 3x10

Conditioning: 11 rounds of 40 yard prowler pushes and box jumps (~20 inches high) with about a 60-90 seconds rest between. It took me about 25 minutes.

It wasn’t a PR, but my conditioning is getting better - and that’s my goal right now. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings at my new playground.

EDIT to add: My avi right now…that’s the rack I was in tonight!

Joining a real PL gym you’re probably about to get a whole lot stronger.

Don’t let her fool ya…its really just because I suck at gift giving and buy shitty christmas presents…

Beast ass workout…lots of strength and conditioning…i like it!

I’d love a gift like that

I hope I get stronger! And awesomer!

Bench
45x5 55x5 75x5 85x3 105x5 120x3 145x1 165x0 160x1 135x4 95x10
Chins inbetween: 4 4 4 3 3 2

Single Arm Rows:
25x4 40x6 50x7 50x7 50x7 50x7

Dips:
10 10 9 8
Band Assisted Chin ups: (not sure the tension, it was green, and I was tired)
5 6 6 5

Conditioning: This is the fun Part!
10 rounds of pulling the prowler ~25 yards with a thick rope, hitting the tire with a hammer, pushing the prowler back down, and jump rope for 100 revs. As little rest inbetween as possible, and I was toast.

EDIT to add: That, friends is a BW bench :stuck_out_tongue:

yay bw bench!

WTG!!!

And that conditioning stuff is awesome.

man that bench Polsen!

I need to get fatter to have a higher bodyweight bench. lol.
