Soy Sauce

Is this an okay food?

Its friggin flavored salt water for the most part dont drink a gallon but yes it ok

Phill

yea the sodium content of it is unreal.

It’s ok. I haven’t found any difference between standard soy sauce and reduced sodium soy sauce for I go for the latter.

Okay as in because it contains soy?

The fermentation process kills off a significant amount of the phytoestrogens. Making it safe, same with traditional tofu. Just don’t go overboard with it and you should be fine.

I prefer Japanese tamari over soy sauce. San-J makes Organic Tamari (contains wheat) and Organic Wheat-Free.

For a sweeter flavour, try golden white tamari. It is white because it’s mostly wheat, not soy. And it’s not so salty. This is what I use.

It’s an ok food, ok if you mean in small amounts and rare occurrences. Remember it is soy after all and I avoid soy if at all possible. Besides the soy part, check out the sodium content some time. I’ve seen many with more than half of your daily allowance, but what does the government know anyway?

You can check out the dangers of soy in an article on this site.

You won’t die eating it here and there but I wouldn’t make it a daily staple either.
