Best episode in a long time. I hate modern pro-wrassing’ with all my guts. I used to love watching pro wrestling 20-30 years ago (American pro-wrestling, puroresu, Mex/Argentine luchadores). But now most of them have de-evolved into this sex-whore Jerry-Springer cheesy melodrama with female wrestlers calling each other tranny and announcements of how much hard, nasty sex they’ll have in the middle of the ring.
You could at one time take your 10 year old to watch Hulk Hogan fighting The Genius. Fuck if you can take a kid that young to watch the pro-wrestling trailer trash crap we get nowadays.
Sad that such a noble, manly form of combat sports (see links below) got sharted all over in the name of crude, tasteless entertainment.
I prefer to consider it theater in the traditional sense. When Shakespeare created The Globe, as revolutionary of a concept as it was, he unfortunately snatched theater away from its original base, the common man.
It has since become a display and pageantry of wealth, and the perception of it has shifted from entertainment to one of high end culture and superiority.
Vince McMahon is just bringing it back to the common man.

No, not for real. It was a joke. If you look at some of the turmoil in his profile, and the drama that was portrayed in the South Park episode, you may see some paralells, like the drug abuse and women stuff.
Hence the joke being that Kurt Angle went from being a “real wrestler” to a “good wrestler” in real life.
But since I’ve had to explain it, I guess it really wasn’t that funny.

Actually Shakespeare deliberately wrote his plays on several levels so that the common man could laugh at the knob gags whilst the intelligentsia were contemplating the deep subtext. But I get your point.
