I’m eating lean animal meats like chicken and buffalo steaks but I still need to get my saturated fat number up a little bit, any recommendations? I’d love to get my fats from some buttered up crumb cake, but we all know how that goes…Thanks for any help!
coconut milk… coconut oil is 86% saturated fat… I use it when I make curry dishes…
and there’s always cheese
Ground beef? Regular not the lean stuff.
meats, eggs, coconut, butter, milk, heavy whipping cream, and well there is a touch in many/most other fatty foods. Just like there are a LOT of fats other than sats in say beef.

Hmm, not sure why you’d want to do that.
But FWIW, if it were me, I’d eat more of the following:-
a) Salmon and mackerel. Both have a fair amount of saturated fat - but it comes along with long-chain omega-3 fats which could help protect you from some of the negative effects of the extra saturated fat.
b) Cocoa. It contains a saturated fat called stearic acid which is currently thought to be possibly more healthy than the other saturated fats. Cocoa also contains various healthy nutrients and this is a pretty tastey way to get them.
Go buy some organic coconut oil-probaby the healthiest saturated fat on earth.
Why do you need more saturated fat? If you eat meat you probably get “enough”…
Coconut is very high in medium chain length saturated fats commonly called MCT’s. google them, great health benefits.

Sat fats have a positive effect on male muscle building hormones like testosterone.

So does cholesterol.
Thats why I think low cholesterol diets are unhealthy.
As said before… coconut is a great source! As well as avocado. Nuts contain saturated fats as well, some more than others.
I feel much better eating saturated fats as opposed to mono and polys. Most of the time I top up my fat intake by eating cheese, so I go through a shit load throughout the week. It can be expensive. I add sour cream and butter to a lot of my foods as well.

Are you sure it’s not just the extra calories that make you feel better?

Yes. I’ve tried every permutation on macro’s and calories, among other things.

I agree. I eat so much cheese you would think my piss would be classified as “finely shredded”.

Problem is, cocoa has very little fat. That’s a lot of cocoa you’d be eating. If you really want to add stearic acid, the most abundant source is beef. Beef has a ton of stearic acid.
Saturated fat is healthy and has been eaten for millions of years. All this low fat low sat diet crap is a bunch of bull. It’s the polyunsat’s that cause all the problems coupled with too many carbs.
I find eggs and creamed coconut good sources as well as lotsa meat. Quality coconut oil and butter are the only oils I cook with, (occasionally olive oil – but mostly eaten raw).
The only thing to watch for with cheese is the excess sodium content.

You’re an idiot, for more than one of the items in your post. Just because it’s been eaten for years doesn’t mean it’s healthy. We’re not saying avoid it at all costs, just minimize it.

I’m an idiot? Why because you think saturated fat is the enemy? Hahahaha. Eaten for years? No, MILLIONS of years – that’s right, we EVOLVED and became smarter by eating what human’s are naturally designed to eat – and this includes meat and saturated FAT. I know, it’s hard to overcome the brainwashing, but if you start doing a little more research you might do yourself a little good.
