Soldiering On

ok, nuff politics…blech

we’re getting paid, YAY!! For now…it just sucks knowing that they could and WERE WILLING to take away pay from the Men & Women who keep us safe and the Families that are here. Sad.

Alexus- we would probably get along famously then. I’m constantly doing silly stuff like that. My husband calls them ‘Betty Moments.’ haha…
And thanks. this cold is sort of forcing me to rest before I get back into it I suppose.

Some motivation:

Eh they’re ignorant.
They also think that Planned Parenthood is only abortion, however my grandmother got help from them with her pregnancy. Apparently they only don’t deal with abortion because I’m here.

Bad Company is an amazing song, I love it.

Betty did they get your band deal straightened out?? Sorry bout all the troubles as of late.

Oy, thank god I’ve missed the politics talk - politics are probably the only thing that gets me all riled up and heated! Maybe I should think about the govt before i lift? That’ll get me mad!! lol! Actually, i work on policy reform all day, that’s why I DON’T want to think about politics when i’m out of work.

MiM, you should know better with the cocoa nibs - there is no substitute for chocolate! except for maybe mocklate, which is what i eat when i’m desperado for chocolate (cocoa powder, sugar, a dash of milk, make into sludge and eat with glee). I can’t keep proper choco in the house for obvious reasons :frowning:

I think you’re right about shaking it up with the training regime. I mean, eating clean is a lifestyle, so you should just keep eating like you normally do (except less stringently) and add in some sort of new training to shake things up. I think doing some more PLing style stuff would be awesome, but hey, maybe just a hill sprint sesh or the running is the little extra oomph you need? I’ll be interested to see what your plans are

ya, they were willing to shut down the government over subsidized pap smears :rolls eyes:

n8tive- hey, no I haven’t contacted them…I’m trying to figure out which band I’m supposed to ask for first. *blush

Mocklate!- love it!!! Hey Mashy, thanks for checkin in…and yes, a shake up will be good. And some good ole fashioned heavy lifting  Miss it.

This looks like something I could work with:

Oh yeah! I totally rocked the Defranco WS4SB a little while ago. I loved it! I think Laststand did it too.

I also did Defranco’s Built Like a Badass, which is pretty cool b/c you switch up lifts pretty frequently - good for ADD. The only thing though is that the badass does A LOT of upper body work (2 days upper/1 day lower) and it freaking blew up my arms! Which is good i s’pose since my ass and legs are already huge, but still, you know me and my neurotic muscles issue…

Ooh YES! YES DO IT!

Yes!!

Sounds like fun!

Interesting program - go for it.
And good luck with the maintenance. I totally relate to the whole diet fatigue thing. I have battled with binge eating since puberty, pretty much, so trying to find a happy medium is what I’m after as well.

WS4SB is a great program!

I’m supposed to be satisfied with weighing 178 lbs?

maybe if I had more muscle and had a BF% of 15-18%.

Hey Trav! yes, I think it will be fun…seems to have enough variety too. And working up to a max set of 3-5 reps seems more manageable for my brain.

I’m sitting here pouting because I want to train but I don’t want to go to the gym.

But I’m sucking it up.
Can’t squat properly at home…

Its pretty sunny and nice outside up here. Why don’t you go outside and do some badass tire flipping! Even better, do it and take a vid for us. That is, if you have any energy left after your gym session.

Somehow I missed the cacao nibs talk. They are bitter, but that’s why you put them in stuff or eat them while your training and you aren’t focused on the flavor-- just need fuel. I really like them in greek yogurt with maple syrup or berries or both or jam. They’re so packed with antioxidants that you have to find a way to eat 'em. Good stuff.

Can’t wait to see the band GHR.

Yeah I did WS4SB for about 3 months until I got PFPS in my good knee. I quite liked the layout of the program. There certainly is lots variety. Go for it!

I’m just glad you all got paid (and I hope they changed it form half pay to full pay). I seriously would have sent you my paycheck if the gov’t had shut down. You and your husband, for the service you’ve given this country, deserve it way more than I do.

Okay, done with the politics. Going to check out that link you posted.

Hey Veg- yep, gonna be an awesome day today, weather wise!

hm, I do need to flip some water that has been collecting in my poor tire

LS- how did you progress while you were on that program?

I’m looking to get leaner AND stronger damnit…it can’t be impossible!!!

Grny- your too kind for even saying that. Thank you. Luckily the Navy/Marine core relief was standing by at the ready to help in any way…and our bank too. Several different organizations were gearing up prepared to help. It was pretty cool! My MIL called that day to ask if we were going to need any help as well.

Training-

Not sure if that’s my 3 rep max, but the bar was slowing down, so decided to stop. Might as well leave room for progress! Took some vids, but not very good angle…camera was too high up.

Static lunges

RDLs
3x12x45s

Leg ext-
4x10x70

Leg curl-

Abzzz circuit- 2x20
flutter kicks/hello dollies/leg lifts/oblique v-ups

Rode bike for 10 minutes- Hill level 8

Probably will need assistance walking tomorrow. I was sweating pretty good, which I hardly ever do…musta been all the rice and potatos I had over the weekend.

Back to the grind stone.
