Bodybuilding “VS” Social Life doesn’t make very much sense to me.
The longer I lift weights the more I notice people go out of their way to talk to me, and not to mention if you’re in the gym for long enough and you go at regular times you end up talking to other regulars, especially if you are actually making progress worth commenting on.
And not that there is any reason you can’t drink and party and still work out, but I think people have this impression that “social life = drinking with idiots and being irresponsible”. How about not?
Having a social life means doing what you like, with like-minded people. It doesn’t mean being dumb to “fit in” with people that are going to be working at Red Lobster when they are 40 (regardless of whether or not they are in college right now).
You have to keep in mind that there are fetish’s and groupies for nearly everything under the sun.
Some women love to have sex with guys who have huge dicks.
Some women love to have sex with athletes.
Some women love to have sex with farm animals. (WEIRD!)
And some women love to have sex with bodybuilders or just a person with a muscular build.

You don’t really have to be that social.
So the beard helps with the barnyard fetishes?

While my beard is not quite bad ass as this billy goats, it still has allowed me to break into that demographic to a small extent.
Couldn’t get myself to read all replies so please be overbearing if I repeat something.
Most important issue:
Do you enjoy goning out?
Do you enjoy gettng shitfaced?
Is it affecting your gains considerably?
I drank 2-3 times pr week for 2 years and made good steady gains. At this point they started slowing down and I made sure to get a girlfriend. I never go out as much or drink as much when I have a GF so it made sense to me.
The food thing can be managed, bring foods or go to 7-11 and raid that area. Sometimes be the designated driver and bring a cooler full of foods/shakes with you.
Protein bars are made for eating on the go, bake or buy some and bring them to the party.
For the average male around 3 servings of alcohol is the cutoff point for when it starts messing with you hormonally.
You could go out and just limit the amount you drink?
Seriously, I would never ever trade partying fun with friend and sex with an endless stream of horny college hardbodies for slightly better muscle gains. Whatever you loose can be made up for by either getting really serious with your weights and food during the time spent away from college or by using roids after college. If you are planning on competing at a high level drugs are a big part of that and a 12week cycle will gain any muscle you compromised gaining during college due to partying.
You are never getting your college years back, and if you enjoy a threesome with two 21 year old college hardbodies please go out and party.
Another really important point everyone brought up. You need to do what is good for you.
If you have confidence and don’t give a shit people will respect your decision.
But you need to be in that position!
Be 100% sure of what you want.
Be self assured and not need to conform to others to be a part of the group.
I personally would get hammered and will myself to train the day after.
