For the purpose of learning. I believe it is because form tends to break down worse as you hit depths, especially if the person lacks flexibility.

I try to focus on keeping a tight arched back but I know my ass goes flat at the bottom of the lift. I don’t have one of those nice reverse hyper machines so I’ll keep doing GMs and I’ll also try the SSB rounded back GM. It’s pretty cool to see a squat genius completely dissect someone’s form. If only we could all have that lol.

Just a random tip i got off a Dave Tate article from yonks ago, another good upper erector builder for upper back tightness, front squat iso hold. Pretty much load up 105-120% of your front squat max, un rack it out the pins and just hold it upright for sets of like 45 seconds.
