Snow Days

Wow. It’s only December 10th and my university already has a snowday. Excellent. This is going to be a good winter.

Pros

  • No class (duh)
  • Snowboarding Later
  • Not pressured to fit my workout into a timely schedule
  • Ordering a pizza for my cheat day because…
  • I just got a new 46" LCD 1080p and PS3 to play on and plan on doing that for quite some time.

Cons

  • It’s fucking cold outside
  • I have to drive to the gym which will double my normal travel time
  • I don’t have any boots for this weather yet. Wet shoes ahoy.
  • Next week IS exam week, so this should be a sign to start studying instead of playing videogames for 7 hours.

Now let’s go… DO NOTHING!

I’m going to Western Michigan. I didn’t know that school was canceled until I got there and all the doors were locked.

Yeah, we got fucking dumped on last night. Now we have a blizzard warning until tomorrow. They’re telling people to stay inside and not go anywhere. Maybe they’ll cancel class tomorrow too.

Unfortunately, we were supposed to get our study guides for the finals today.

Nothing to do today but study for finals, or surf the intertubez…

I teach in the burbs east of Cleveland and we get some real heavy-duty snow.

Definitely! It’s always really exciting for the first month or so we have substantial snow. But once you REALLY get into the thick of things (after the January meltdown,) you start to realize you still have three months of this shit left to go.

So right now I’m ecstatic. I’m sure by March I’ll be making threads about how much I fucking hate snow.

I don’t know. It’s not a bullshit degree but it’s not engineering either. I’m in Interdisciplinary Health Services with an emphasis on Nursing, which I’ll eventually be doing. I don’t skip classes hardly ever, anyway, so… Yep.

Yeah I’m in the Dirty 'Zoo with Skaz. Took me 24 minutes to get from my place downtown to Oshtemo this morning going to the gym. Usually takes me under 10.

And keep in mind, we get snow ALL the time. A lot of it. WMU is pretty infamous around these parts for never closing down campus. Woke up this morning at 7 to get ready for my 8 o’clock, and decided to check to see if school was closed, and BOOM! Right back to bed. :slight_smile:
