Snatch Grip High Pulls and Snatch Grip Deadlifts Redundant?

I absolutely love doing them but wonder if they are redundant with snatch grip deadlifts, which I recently started doing on the same day?

Not at all. Snatch-grip deadlift overloads mostly the first pull in a snatch (floor to mid-thigh) while the high pull overloads the second pull.

Plus, snatch-grip deadlift are a strength exercise whereas thehigh pull is a strength-speed exercise (different quality).

The snatch-grip deadlift will hit the quads, lower back and glutes more.

The high pull will work the hamstrings, and traps more.

Thank you coach! Glad to hear I can keep doing both

Olympic lifters routinely do both, plus full snatches, and survive
