Snatch Form Check

Weight is 115lbs, been awhile since iv snatched just looking for some tips and advice. Everything iv learned was from you tube.

A video from the side where we can see your hips and back level would be prefered.

You’re not pulling too early with the arms but aren’t bending them either to keep the bar close, which might not be a problem if your pull is really vertical and you just get out the way.

You would benefit from wearing some oly shoes ; your heels are rising at the bottom.

May more experienced lifters share there views too and help you.

I’d also suggest some olympic shoes, it seems like you have some ankle flexibility problems. Also I might suggest a wider grip, when you stand the bar should be in the crease of your hips, it looks as if it’s mid-thigh, that might just be me though. Hopefully I helped a bit! Goodluck.

Thanks guys my friends got a pair of adidas oly shoes he is gonna let me use so well see how that goes.

View from the side with 135lbs.

Hips are rising really fast, and your back is not set before you begin.

Whats frustrating is i can muscle snatch 135lbs but when i try and get under 135lbs in a full snatch i always seem to lose my balance forward any suggestions or videos?

Do some overhead squats in order to get used to the bottom position. If you lose it forward, that sounds like tight shoulders to me. So stretch you pecs and biceps and foam roll you upper back and shoulders.

Not moving your feet will limit you. You need to learn to move your feet!! Drop snatches and snatch balance will help you with this. Then start working high hang snatches.
