You have, looks fine, just keep going. Learn all you can from the coach. Canada has a pretty good weightlifting set up I believe.
Thanks. Funny, I live in Toronto, and there are hardly any gyms with bumper plates…

Keep the bar closer after hip bump!! The bar is swinging away from you too far, with heavier weights, it will be left in front and you will miss.

I second the whole “why not compete??” thoughts. You can compete in both you know!! Lots of people do, but why would you compete in PL if you’re not a “big fan”??

And, how do you know you won’t be good enough for high(er) level comp in OL if you don’t try?? You yourslef said that it’s fun!!

Pretty snappy. I don’t plan on competing again, but I still love training and live for PR’s. I don’t think it’s that weird.

Maybe it is…
Thank you. Any errors you can point out? And I love getting Pr’s too… Such a good feelingg
Not really. Just be sure to keep the weight on your heels.

Alright, how exactly would I keep it closer? By flexing my lats? Thanks!

I wanna compete in PL because It was a goal of mine from back in like November, so I wanna follow through with it.

I think I’m going to try, everyone is persuading me!

Okay, I noticed on the newest snatch video I posted, my right heel came up. I have to work on that ankle’s mobility, because for a while I had an asymmetry in my, so my right leg compensated I guess by having shittier ankle mobility, but they’re even now. Thank you!

Sorry I didn’t meant to imply you weren’t, it’s just that, personally, it took me a while to really get the feel of having a powerful hip drive. A lot of the coaching in the US (crossfit stuff, etc) seems to emphasize “jumping” which messed up my form.

Oh i see, it’s understandable  i was originally told to power clean by jumping (learned PC before full cleans) and ive been trying really hard to learn the clean with hip drive. The hardest part is getting underthe bar fast enough aha

I’m surprised only one person so far has pointed this out: You’re swinging the bar out waaaaay too far on your snatch, it’s meant to be really close to your body going almost straight up. See how in the video the bar goes almost straight up? Then compare it to your snatches. Make sure you pull along your body and keep it as close as possible. Otherwise it looks solid.

Also: Compete if you have the opportunity, it’s a lot of fun.
