What are the pros and cons for her to have surgery?[/quote]
I am meeting with two different surgeons next week and will get those answers then.
Made protein pudding tonight:
Avocado, banana, chocolate whey protein powder, real maple syrup, almond milk, cocoa powder.
Both kids said it was disgusting. Ingrates.
Busy moving massive weights today:)

Paused flat bench

I have had the same experience recently with narrow stance versus wide stance squats. Since I’m no good at either I’m going to go with the one that causes less pain.
Your protein pudding sounds delicious.
Regarding squat stance, I find I’m narrower raw and wider equipped. My hips can’t take wide without a suit.

Been hiking/walking. Spring has been awesome in my neck of the woods.
Solid work in here. I hope things work out with the hips for both you and your daughter. Gymnastics is brutal; it takes a special person to do it.
We had a little glimpse of spring for about a week, but now its just back to raining. ![]()

Cracks me up because anything that isn’t snow is considered spring in my area. We had snow one year in early July.
So last night:
Stretch, squat, lunge
RDL warmup
8/45
5/95
Conventional pulls
5/125
3/145
3/5/165 belt

Squat

3/8/90
^^felt wonderful. All I really wanna do is squat.
Weighted hypers
Lat pull down
Blew off the planks. Hate those damn things. Will do them today.
Forgot to mention that I finally got in to see the surgeon for my daughter, which was no easy task. Prior to meeting with him, I had spent a good deal of time watching his medical presentations online and reading papers and such so that I could speak intelligently about her condition. I am a pain in the ass like that. Doctors either appreciate it or . . . not. Anyways, I believe that he appreciated it.
Bottom line is she will have surgery at the end of July. It’s pretty major. Like four hours of surgery to re-shape the hip joint and repair or potentially replace the damaged labrum. It can’t get better and can only get worse over time. So we are going to get her fixed up now in the hopes that she can return to gymnastics or any other sport she chooses pain-free eventually.
I plan to do a powerlifting meet on July 26 and her surgery will be July 29. It will require quite some care taking on my part afterwards plus six months of physical therapy.
Thanks for reading!
Wishing the best to your daughter for a successful outcome. We went done a similar road with our daughter…the young are blessed, they will and do heal and return to the fight!!
