Snapper's Strength Sojourn

That is outstanding news…first a broomstick, then the bar, then the bar with weight on it! Just a matter of time and being smart.

Joe, we want photographic evidence of you munching on your wrist wraps. They’d be tastier with BBQ sauce.

That is very exciting!! You are indeed on you way.

great news snap!

That’s good to hear. I am glad you are healing so fast.

Cue horns

First day upper body “weight” training in eight weeks!

Started off with 8 minutes on the hand bike. Yowsie. My shoulder was tired after that!

Then moved on to a series of 3 x 10 scapular strengthening exercises with 1-lb. dumbbells! Hooray! I won’t go into the boring detail, but everything seemed to work, which is very good news indeed. I’m ecstatic! Looks like the anchors are doing their job.

Did accessory leg work in the gym last night at 10:30 pm. Six plates on the leg press, which is decent for me. Leg extension and (for the first time since mid-March) lying hamstring curl. It was an interesting crowd. Lots of teens and 20-somethings with way too much weight and horrific form. I was the only female. Fun, fun!

Life is good.

yei!!! :D!!!

yei!!! :D!!!

Awesome upper body landmark! I kinda had a feeling you would end up not wanting to run…but if you think back to when you first, first started running, it does take a period of time to get conditioned/used to it before you actually start enjoying it. When I occasionally do run, I hate the crap out of it, but when I did it regularly, I used to really enjoy it and look forward to it. Just playing devil’s advocate here. Don’t run actually.

Honestly, that is the best news I’ve heard yet today.

I need some motivation today to try to make some gains, and if you can do it so can I.

Outstanding, very glad its going so well for you.

yay!! happy happy!

Nice way to rehab!!

WOOO

I’d cook for you a celebratory feast Snap with plenty of protein and veg to help the healing along.

^^^ When?

when you can either come up and visit or pay my plane ticket for me to go see you. Maybe we can start atrust fund for you. Feed the Snapper! We’ll get people to donate as a get better soon gift and then I can fly down and cook up a storm  Let me know what’s on you wish list

Yay, congrats on being back in the gym. Good news.

Get your doc to write a prescription for the Prowler. Then insurance might cover it.

Somehow I think not, Jumpin’ Jack Flash. In fact, I just received a nice long form to fill out from my insurance company to see if any third party could possibly be responsible for me blowing out my shoulder.

What’s new? Let’s see:

  • Moved up to 2-lb. weights in scapular strengthening PT exercises
  • Am full strength in the leg press
  • Can now get in position to do the lying hamstring curl machine
  • Successfully did five unweighted squats in the smith machine (exceedingly painful on the shoulder)
  • Can fix my hair in more styles
  • Been hiking a ton

That’s about it.

Hey thats a 50% strength increase.

Congrats on the continuing progress.
