Snap Back

That wasn’t knee cave on the extra-wide squats, that was knee wiggle. You have to come to my log to witness real knee cave.

Ice skating on a lake! That is very fun. I love to skate but stopped jumping a few years ago when it just got too dangerous.

Thats pretty freaking wide squats. I don’t think I’d love squatting that wide.

I think everybody has a lift that screws with their head. Squats have been mine for a long time but I think thats changing now.

Oh my word. You saucy wench. I just saw this now. No wonder the guys are all in a tizzy over your squats.

Great shoes

I’d rather be an elite lifter than a saucy wench. Actually, I’d prefer to be both.

I’m not sure those shoes have ever made it outside. I’m not known for my sophisticated gait in high heels.

Some heels were meant to be worn on feet in the air. Seriously.

I don’t do well in heels but I look great in them. If I just stand still, I’m good.

Heh, I was wondering if you’d ever worn those heels out.

You guys lifting Wednesday?

I sure do like the way you think.

With alot of shopping and trial and error, I actually have two pairs of heels that I can walk around all day without pain. Apparently it helps if you are French, which I am not.

Nope. Never worn most of the heels I own out. Hee hee.

Yes! Can you join us?

Yes, I believe I can. The northerly place. How much for a day pass, do you know?

Stepping into the gym today I realized that this is the beginning of my least favorite time of the year training-wise because of the mobs of people in the gym. College kids are home. And lots of people are getting a jump start on their upcoming resolutions to get fit. In other words, tons of people who don’t know what they’re doing.

Squats
5/65 too deep . . . threatened by the thought of the box of shame
4/80 corrected depth from here on out
3/90
2/95
1/105
2/5/120
5/125

With bands from top
3/145
3/155

So the working sets felt hard. But I think that’s because I’m not sure where depth is. So I’m stopping my descent where I think I’m hitting proper depth and then having to change gears to go back up. Way too much overanalyzation.

Sumo DLs
3/5/135

I threw a little snit after my first set because I was doing a controlled drop and the multisided plates kept bouncing away from me. I did touch-and-go on subsequent sets with better luck. Also played with my grip and width of my stance. May post a very uninspiring vid later so you can lob rotten veggies at the screen. Truly, I have no talent with this lift.

GMs
3/8/65

Finished it off with lying hammie curls and standing calf raise.

Video of the snit?

Nice… xmas… pic… drool drool… lol!

I’m no expert when it comes to squatting, but your wide stance video… I think if you drive your elbows forward when you are coming out of the hole (heheheh)… ahem… if you drive your elbows forward, you will compensate for the forward shift of weight… you may have to widen your hands a bit…

Respectfully submitted… your Hind-ness… lol! :stuck_out_tongue:

No snit video. Just this.

Great work there!

Although those flat sided plates look a little awkward. It seems unless you put them down between reps completely on a flat side they roll slightly forward or backwards. Can you feel that when using them?

Are you trying to goad me? Do you not know that I am leading the crusade against multi-sided plates? I hate them with a passion. That’s what my snit was about. On the second rep of my first set, I did a controlled drop and the bar rolled out two inches on one side. I stopped in the pull position and threw a snit.

I have a second gym membership entirely because I want round plates on serious DL days.

Firstly, your sumo form is way better than mine.

Secondly, those plates look like they suck and I cannot figure out why the hell you’d make plates like that.

I couldn’t sumo pull 135 any better than that.

The express purpose of those plates is to discourage deadlifting. They are very common in commercial gyms.
