I think you’re just threatened by my rising bench numbers.

Have a great holiday. Hopefully we can get together in the new year!

You got it. Let me know next time, I just found out I have to cover some stuff for another attorney. I might’ve been able to swing both, but timing would be tight.

looks like you’re still having fun over here. I was going to say something to dark cloud your little unicorny universe of dancing and sex. but nothing comes to mind.

so do it again, its Christmas!

Hope you get better soon. Still waiting on Santa pics

Antibiotics rock. What a difference 24 hours makes.

I was not made to squat to the box of shame today on the condition that I hit the proper depth. I was a good girl and didn’t go too deep.

Today’s training.

Squat
5/60
4/70
3/85
2/95
1/100
2/5/115
5/120

Squats with bands from top to train walkout and teach bouncing outta the hole at proper depth
3/140
3/150

Sumo DL (God, help me)
3/8/120

GMs
3/8/60

A) Lying Hammie Curl
3/8/70

B) Calf Raise
3/8/210

Okay. Okay. I’ll get a Santa pic up before Christmas.

I guess your Santa pic won’t be taken on the box of shame, then.

Interesting progression of reps on the squats. I might steal that.

whistles

yeah Snapper! looking forward to the santa pic - and it can totally be pg13 you know.

Great work in here.

I have been thinking, you should rent out some of the extra depth you don’t need to some of the athletes at my gym. There were 4 guys tonight rotating in for doubles with 295, grunting, and putting on a big show, who could have used an extra foot and a half or so to get to legal.

Here’s what I’ve learned: Late-night dancing + alcohol + an extended roll in the hay does not make for the most productive 7 am training session.

Train at home and combine the two.

Regarding the UTI, I hope it clears up quickly. I had one once. That was enough for me.

Decisions, decisions. I love all the variables that make this sport equally frustrating and addicting.

For such a physical activity there is a huge mental component outside the gym.

If I’m not training, I’m generally thinking about training, analysing, researching, tweaking etc

Interested to see how the wide stance squats contribute in the long term.[/quote]

Like both of you, I find a lot of my head space is devoted to training. I don’t really think you can excel at any sport without putting the mental effort in with the physical.

I’ll be following along with the wide stance squats. You’ll definately be able to move more weight. I’ve had both success and failure. I’ve drifted too wide and been high. I felt deep but because of the rubber band effect, it wasn’t as deep as it felt.

Ah ha, maybe coach had more than one reason for the box ; )

Glad you’re feeling better. I agree with Kimba–that squat progression looks steal worthy.

I procured a Santa hat this evening . . .

I have something like 12 weeks before my next meet. And looking at my training numbers at this time I can’t imagine how I’m going to hit my goals. Egads.

you know, you’re going to be am amazing pl coach some day…You’re knowledge and interaction with your coach just seems like its leading to a badass conclusion. Way cool

Can I get in on the borrowed depth?

ditto the borrowed depth. of course i have never squatted high in my life, but there was this guy doing something, i don’t know, maybe squat-type lockouts or something…

I’ll be using the photographer in residence (aka, my husband).

Yes, Git, I can’t imagine how I’ll ever be able to cover the fees.

My PL coach has [not so subtly] suggested I become a referee because I have a knack for identifying lifting violations. He’s an IPF Cat 1. Not sure I wanna do that, though. Those refs can get beaten up on pretty bad at times.

Just read a post over in the women’s compound saying that the Over 35 forum is insulting. I enjoy being here because of the commonalities that we share (marriage, kids, training injuries, etc.). I also really enjoy the years of training experience that so many of you have and the ensuing knowledge. It’s a great online community. Do any of you think that logging in Over 35 suggests that we think we’re past our prime? Or a better question may be why do you not choose to log in the regular Training Logs section?
