I should add some weight in the deadlift, yeah. Definitely. Adding 2 kilos to the front squat today, gonna add weight to the pullups next time. Dropped the weight on the presses, though, so I could stop cheating and leaning back. Turned out to be harder than I expected.
30 reps: front squat 99 kg
25 reps: pullup 12 kg, military press 59 kg
So does that mean you are working with more than your bodyweight now? Movin’ on up. And way to choose form over weight. Keep that ego out of the gym! Good job on the upper body as well. Stay strong.
I train at home so cheating to satisfy the ego is even worse than when people are watching. I’m right around 90 kg right now, so I’m front-squatting a little more than bodyweight and I’m getting pretty close to deadlifting double bodyweight for regular working sets.
15 reps: deadlift 173 kg
30 reps: pullup, db floor press 42 kg
30 reps: front squat 99 kg. I’m pretty much over that cold or whatever I had but my throat is still irritated and for some reason on every set I had to stop at the top of at least one rep and cough. Quite unpleasant. Maybe I’ll go do the upper-body lifts in an hours or so with less weight, but I really don’t feel up to them right now.
Long hours at work much of this week plus a couple of my bands are keeping me busy, so instead of pushing myself I’ll just deload this week. Hopefully I’ll finally stop coughing completely, too.
30 reps: front squat 69 kg
25 reps: pullup, military press 49 kg
Yeah, deloading’s great. I hadn’t tried it much in the past because I’d just take a week off every 6-8 weeks when my job would send me on a business trip. Thanks to the global financial crisis and cost-cutting that’s now over and I get a chance to deload instead of just not touching any weights for a week. It really works wonderfully.
Today:
30 reps: front squat 99 kg
25 reps: pullup 14 kg, military press 59 kg
