Sleeveless Shirts: Too Intimidating?

if their not fans of cuttoff tops because they intimidate, where do they stand of grunting/screaming out reps? or even just getting physced up for that final set? the deep breathing, the sadistic look in your eye before you go under the bar?
Yeah i agree, but its probably not too intimidating when you have a 125 pound kid grunting through 115 pound deadlifts

Btw this reminds me how annoying guys are in the gym when they throw 225 on the bench and their partner is basically deadlifting the weight to spot them…then the spotter says that was all you??? wtf? the spotter got more of a workout

Transfer schools man.

How you should of handled the situation:

 1. take headphones off
 2. listen
 3. say “I don’t think so”
 4. headphones on
 5. proceed with training

I remember when I was at NYU, I was scolded for training with my headphones on. Apparently it was a dangerous situation as I was unaware of those around me. (I think I was laying in the corner doing crunches or something else really dangerous)

Being the ass that I am this is how I would handle it.
headphones off
Worker:Sir, you cant wear sleveless shirts here your going to need to put this shirt on we dont want you intimidating anyone.

Me:You’re shoes are intemidating me, im gona need you to take them off, and while your at it your left sock is gona have to go too it is mighty fearsome.

Worker:…

Me:Did I sound as stupid as stupid as you when you asked me to put on that shirt? Thats what I was going for.
BTW Ill put on that shirt right after you cover up all these obese womem wearing less than I am.
headphones on

Ya, shit, the whales intimidate ME

I demand they all wear muzzles for fear that they might eat me. All I want to fucking do it deadlift, and bench, and squat WITHOUT worrying about getting chomped upon by some confused blubber monster looking for her fix.

I say, wear the sleeveless, then draw on sleeves with a sharpie.

They do, but the same rule applies there as well.
I am assuming, since you’re located in Wales, you are talking about soccer when you say football… ?

you wouldn’t want to motivate any of the other lifters with your physique because that might be a good thing

nope can’t have any of that

This is just another prime example of the liberal fucking slant in this country, otherwise known as the pussification of America.

These are the same assholes that organize “scoreless soccer games” for fear that a child might get his feelings hurt from losing.

Sorry for the rant but this is the kind of shit that makes me sick to my stomach. You can’t even turn on the TV anymore without some liberal asshole cramming an agenda up our backsides.

LOL.

Sleeveless shirts - gayest “agenda” ever. Even gayer than the gay agenda.

LOL. Yeah, definitely do this.

If you need a sleeveless shirt to maintain intensity then you need to reevaluate how you train.

Actually, no we don’t. I like to see my muscles working. I want to see the progress I’ve made. All of these things contribute to my intensity. I really think the only people who can’t understand that…aren’t carrying that much muscle to start with.

I haven’t trained in a full t-shirt in maybe 10 years. It would fuck up my focus now simply because I am used to seeing what is going on with my body, including the pump.
yeah working out is very mental, IMO, if i dont feel big when i train then i wont train big.

ahhaha thats what id do, you are wearing “sleeves”

They said that working out in a sleeveless shirt is bad, but what about really short shorts? Is that too intimidating for them?

Training in a T shirt binds up when training and especially when doing overhead presses. That’s why I love my garage gym. Sometimes I’ll train shirtless or hit a pose or three if I get the notion. Try that at your local Primp-N-Pump.

Yeah, go in speedos and that really big shirt that didnt fit you. You would fit in better with all the whales.

THere’s actually a gay individual in my gym (a guy) who wears women’s workout attire… I’ll go out on a limb and say that it most likely makes a good number of patrons uncomfortable.

The truth is that these people really do not want to be there and they are very self-conscious. If they see someone in shape then it will make them even more insecure and they will not want to be there.

Pathetic, isn’t it?
Real people, of course, are encouraged by it.
I’ve always preferred training (in anything) with people who are better than me. Gives me a goal.
If THEY can do it, I can do it.
