SkyzykS's Keep Hitting It Until It Works Again Log

Been laying around not feeling good. I I don’t know if it was some sort of biological warfare, but yesterday/last night my head (sinuses) just started glowing with heat and pain. I sat on the bike and sort of strolled through about 40 min. of “don’t just lay there and die”. :joy: I guess orange Julius’s, potato chips, and egg sandwiches did the trick though.

This morning things started flowing (air) and I got a little ride in.

30 min. watching SpongeBob and cruising at 30 rpm.

10 min ramping up listening to some Santana-

And another 15 listening to some Zeppelin-

Just trying to make sure that doesn’t happen too soon! That last 8 min. makes me want to cha-cha if I knew how to dance.

Got 5 rounds of:

20 lb. Unilateral overhead press 20 reps, curl 15 reps, airdyne 5 min. @ 50 rpm.

Still feel crappy, slooooooowly shaking cold/sinus/breathing stuff.

Still owe sit ups and rev. hypers.
Maybe later, maybe tomorrow. Need more coffee.

Have I mentioned lately that I hate congestion?

I do. I have this face, head and chest thing happening still. It’s fading slowly, but there none the less.

So tonight:

Airdyne- warmed up for about 20 min. @ 40 rpm or so, then ramped up to 55-60+ for about a half hour.

Vague on times because I was listening to tunes, drinking coffee and just feeling really good once I got moving. Had my own little peleton commercial going minus the beautiful people and wonderful architecture.

Was thinking of @Spock81 when I selected this:

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Live at Slane Castle 2003 Full Concert (High Quality) - YouTube

to ride along to.

Kiddo really likes playing Secret Santa with the weights. So:

Overhead press:

  1. 6 reps @ 35 lbs.
  2. 12 reps @ 45 lbs.
  3. 18 reps @ 55 lbs.
  4. 12 reps @ 65 lbs.

And little dude banged out 8 sets of triples @ 25 lbs. on dead lifts prior to that. He wants to be the strongest kid in first grade! :joy:

He might do it too!

So, the pic above (decorations aside) was at minute 25:24 of a “99 minute challenge” that my kiddo came up with.

As I was pedaling through that he kept loading up the bar with different weights, resulting in-

Tricep extensions–1 set, 20 lbs, 25 reps, 1 set 30 lbs. 25 reps, 1 set 40 lbs. 12 reps.

Curls- set 1 50 lbs. 16 reps, set 2 70 lbs. 12 reps, set 3 80 lbs. 8 reps.

Reverse curls- 35 lbs. 18 reps, 45 lbs. 12 reps.

Bent over rows- 85 lbs. 3 sets of 12.

It’s hard to say no to the little guy that thinks you’re the strongest guy in the world. :relaxed:

And 300 some cals. from the bike ride.

One arm rows, 40 lbs.

2 sets @ 12
1 amrap- 20 reps.

Push ups- 4 sets of 15, 60 total.

I’m going to start doing chest stuff again. I quit for a good while because the tension freaked me out, but angina is under control and I need some muscle to support my moobs.

Tonight:

Nothing. Sweet, sweet nothing. I’m beat. I just want to sleep.

I’m only slightly jealous of your kids… My parents can’t cook anything except greasy stir fries

My kid barely eats anything I make. He’s completely hesitant about trying anything new or different. He did try and absolutely loved some salmon a couple days ago, otherwise it hotdogs or chicken nuggets!

I understand that this is a common frustration, but a frustration none the less.

I’d love a real stir fry. My brothers wife and family are from Taiwan and she makes some great foods.

I’m actually working with a CMU startup called Little Moochi that’s trying to tackle this problem. (I wrote the blog posts  )

Their stir fries are definitely as authentic as they get- I (and my toilet) just can’t stand the grease

I’m going to have to look into that!

If you can improve that little mousetrap the parents of the world will beat a path to your door.
