They’ll be 7 and 5 in July. Good kids. Happy, funny, curious about the world. Younger one especially has a hilariously cute innocence about him - he’s curious and excited about EVERYTHING. They’re loving brothers who squabble as you’d expect any brothers that age to do.
They are really great at that age. Any age, really.
Mine is 12 now. Finishing up 6th grade and doesn’t like me bothering him when he plays his computer games.
But I also just got him his first piece of steel to make a sword with. So that will be our father & son thing for the summer. (Somewhat inspired by @Brant_Drake and Conan The Barbarian)
Thank you. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a while, and you’ve mentioned making these kinds of things a few times, and I figured why not?
He’s on the precipice of manhood. Its time for him to begin to learn The Riddle Of Steel.
I’m doing well! Just a little tired because I had all my stuff shipped with a U-box. Organized all my stuff in boxes and brought them all down from a 3rd floor walk up lol. Boy that was tiring! Totally underestimated it too. It took me almost 3 days when I thought I could do it all in 1 day. But happy to be moving back into CA after being in NY for 4 years
I wanted to relay a bit of info through you, if I may. If your son is still in this region, now is a good time to hit the woods. Chanterelle season and mid summer mushrooms in general are coming up pretty good.
I actually just got off the phone with him and unfortunately he hurt his ankle last week. He was complaining about the clipped wing piece of it - his workouts had been going well and now he’s having to stay off it.
I certainly sympathize. Man, it sucks being hurt/sick/sidelined.
Went for a nice early morning walk to beat the heat. It has been raining alot. And its my favorite mushroom season. Fall is good, great variety, but now is my time. @Brant_Drake@anna_5588 cuz I didnt want to over run the FP thread with non-food food. I kinda nauseate myself with that, so I dunno how you guys put up with it.
I didnt even make it to my patch before I found another previously un-found one. Filled a grocery bag with as much as I could without crumbling them. Probably a couple lbs.
But I did make it to my regular patch. Glad I brought two bags.
