Right? If you’d asked me before the documentary to name five Eagles songs in 60 seconds, I’m not sure I could’ve rattled that many off. It was only after watching it that I realized “holy heck…I know all of these! Wow, they were a bigger band than I realized!”
There are a few tunes that I can remember hearing on the kitchen radio before I was tall enough to see the top of the table.
Another daily/semi-daily ride down.
20 minutes, 4.1 miles. ![]()
This made me laugh.
Had a good follow up today with the doc. Rythm, sounds, sines, all good! He was elated to hear that I was doing brief, light rides and didn’t mistake “light exertion” with “no exertion”. I’m betting that’s a common misunderstanding in this realm.
Celebrated with a 25 min. ride, picked up the pace a little- 5.7 miles. Felt great. Could actually feel the point at which everything went wooosh and really started to flow.
Today:
5.4 miles in 20 minutes. I could tell I was pushing it a little. Got into the mid 50’s for the last 6 min. or so. That might be a relief, but we’ll see. I could pay for it later. Consequences never really had any effect on me because by the time they roll around I already got what I wanted.
We’ll probably be moving on to a remote shock collar. The neighbors got one for their dog and it works like a champ.
This is for…the cat? Your son? I’m confused. I thought the dog you hang with is the neighbor’s.
I think the joke was, for him.
I know. It seemed much more clear to me in my head than it came across.
It would be for me. I’m still on light (very light) duty, but have been busted a few times doing pushups, some curls, and splitting long logs to expand the kids’s obstacle course.
That ride at pre- 4th stent rates was pretty out of bounds. Felt good, but I get yelled at a lot lately for these things.
Not hurting from it though, which I love. A couple of weeks ago I would be feeling like I had an ice pick stuck through my chest right now.
Nice & easy, 4.4 miles in 20 min.
And 2 sets of 10 pushups. ![]()
No shock collar required.
Pushed a little. Honestly, pushed pretty hard (for me, right now)
Airdyne:
1 mile warmup,
5.7 miles in 20 min.
Left leg cool down-. 3 mi.
3 sets of 10 pushups. Had to stop there, because if you’re that close to fifty… Then you might as well do 70, and who only does 70, right?
I get pangs of anger and frustration sometimes. Today is one of those times. I need to chill about this stuff is an understatement. I get more done and feel better about myself when I’m not in this kind of mood.
All within the context that I’m really happy, not just to be here on the whole, but to have these capabilities after it has all been said & done.
It’s just a mood. It too shall pass. ![]()
For today:
Warmup on airdyne for I dunno. Long enough. Once I smooth out in high 40’s I’m warm, plus nice cruise.
5 min. @ 50 rpm then 10 pushups. Did that for five rounds. Total- 6.something miles and 50 pushups. ![]()
In other news- turned 49 on Sunday. Got my second 'Rona shot on Tuesday and felt like real crap yesterday. Only feel like moderate crap today.
What’s a good scary story in Pittsburg?
“Gather around kids, and I’ll tell you all about the time Kordell turned the ball over 4 times in the '97 AFC Championship!”
Happy belated Birthday!
Once upon a time there was a great coach named Bill Cowher, but he retired… ![]()
Went over my buddies today and tore out the storage box thingy on his equipment trailer. Just toe dipping into work/welding stuff, grinding and ripping on some rusty old steel.
Not really weights and cardio, and not trying to dress it up as anything it isn’t, but a couple hours of that kicked my butt. I’ll finish it tomorrow. At least the nasty part got done today.
Kinda burns that it took that long too, but fuck it. ![]()
Got this today.
Not an air fryer, but wtf can ya do?
She said no. No means no.
@ChickenLittle I can cook a turkey in that!
Actually, now I’m gonna have to research how to cook turkeys. I’ve only been doing 1/2 birds and breasts in a crock pot.
Yes! That will definitely cook a turkey! Very nice.
Yeah! The maiden voyage was quesedillas.
It’s gonna take some getting used to. Aside from broiling steaks and chicken I haven’t used an oven since our last one broke like 8 years ago.
