Wasn’t a lot to post this week other than moderate running up and down our sled riding hill and building a bunch of snow banks, jumps and stoppers for my kiddos sled riding. Not Really exercise, but good activity anyways. Nepa stuff. It all adds up though.
Tonight, 5.1 miles in 20 min. Then 20 lb. curls and ohp dumbells till failure in each exercise, 4 rounds for each arm.
Yesterday was very sedentary and just needed to do something to get the blood flowing.
Yikes. 6 days!
I didn’t log one shoulder/upper workout from a few days ago, but it was pretty good. Pre-exhausted with delt raises and lat activation, then just burned everything (lats, shoulders, bi’s, tris, traps) with drop sets.
Today so far-34 min. airdyne, 6.something miles.
Have also been doing a good bit of outside stuff. Shoveling, sled riding, stuff like that. All good fun.

Really felt this one in a number of ways. Sometimes its to feel better, sometimes it’s to feel anything/nothing. Eh. Don’t know what this was.
But now I feel like some chicken and spinach.

Afternoon ride: 6.1 miles, 24:something minutes.
Had some kind of cold/flu misery for about 6 days but put a 12 mile ride in yesterday. Didn’t really time it just at my usual rate, so probably 50 ish minutes.
It warmed up so I lifted outside.
Doing triples. Used all the weight. Got a couple of more plates a while back, so like 250 lbs.
Had fun. Felt a little eh. Just knocking the rust off. Me and the plates.
Got a 10 mile ride in on airdyne in about 40 minutes, then 1 more mile arms only. Don’t know the exact time but kept the rpm at right around a 5 min. mile (mid 40’s). That was a slugfest.
All feels pretty good though. I was expecting that severe fatigue from pulling the other day but it wasn’t that bad, and today I had planned my typical 6 miler, but lately 10 seems like, just better. And the arms was just because I was listening to some metallica and didn’t want to turn it off.
Edit: I am very tired now that I’m cooling down.
A little snippet from some front squats.
I’m getting a little dippy with my posture there. Could stay a little more upright. Posture and mobility could use some work all the way around.
Felt good though. It was a nice afternoon. I’d like to develop more pop and speed off the bottom though without bouncing. That first moment felt like I was bogged down in peanut butter.

Thank you. I was doing goblets a little with DBs, but a lot of that became very limited after the thing in December. As you can hear at the end calling the kitty, I’m still under a watchful eye.
It just feels good to move a little and get some decent fresh air.
After all that, me and kiddo (way in the background) ran around and had a little nerf war.

Actually no, in the typical fashion, my dad bought me a set of very nice bumper plates from wright barbell… the only problem is that mum won’t let me set up my equipment ![]()

Funny thing about weight now though. Even regular plates like those are going for like $1.50/lb now, but after my heart attack ActivitiesGuy contacted me and gave me the smaller plates and curl bar, and one buddy (same guy who harassed me into not convalescing) gave me the long bar, big plates, and a few hex heads when he re-did his home gym.
Hence my referring to them as having a history of greatness in the check in thread.
