Skipping

Just thought id let some of u know incase u already didnt (which most of u probably did) that according to mens health this month skipping for 10minutes burns as many calories or more than a 30minute run. Just thought id fill ya in.

That aside, would anyone actually skip up and down the road regardless of how effective it was?

Anybody else here see a pattern developing where Men’s Health consistently tries to turn us all into a bunch of fairies? Like we’re gonna skip down the friggin’ street for 10 minutes just so we don’t have to jog for another 20? WTF? I suppose it burns even more calories to be holding another guy’s hand while we do it, huh guys?

At least now I’ll know what’s going on when I see grown men skipping on the side of the road.

Sounds like a great contest idea for T-mag…a prize for the first person who catches someone skipping for their cardio on camera…but be quick, they’ll only be doing it for 10 minutes.

Hmmm…methinks they are referring to JUMPING ROPE…not skipping down the street with another T-man in tow! lol

God, it BETTER be skipping rope, because I’m about to fire off a nasty email to Men’s Health requesting that they change their name to “Fruit’s Health”… Man, I’m glad I didn’t get a subscription to that birdcage-liner of a magazine.

One thing thats kind of funny is that because of a lack of good physical activity, there are a good bit of people who are not able to skip at all. Skipping is the most advanced locomotor skill and some do not get that far in their development.

Me and my partner have taken “touch training” to a new level and always hold hands and skip through the gym after a good glute workout.

I wonder if you get more “skipping resistance” by adding pigtails and a dress?

how the hell can jumping rope burn 3 times as many calories as running per unit time. how fast were these losers running?

Sounds good to me. Cut your cardio time in half while doing something a little more entertaining than running (at least you can vary your skipping patterns a bit, trying new movements and such).

Besides, skipping will help develop your coordination and build a more explosive core in your calves.

I’m a grown ass man, and no matter what the benefits might be from skipping, you’ll never, ever catch me doing said movement.

plyo exercises such as hops or bounds (power skipping for example). it feels real GAY when you do it, but it works!
