I did feel like quite the saucy minx. I was in Toronto yesterday and it was minus 16. I was super glad it wasn’t that cold new years day.

They all felt hard. This is as far as we got.

I got a phone call from my older daughter that she had slid off the road on the way home from picking up her friend in Brantford and didn’t know where she was. Neither she nor her friend were hurt and we made her find a house to ask where she was. It turns out she was 50km from London. She’d gotten on the highway going the wrong way and was an hour from home. We drove out to get them and the van. The police were there and wondering how she ended up so far west. I guess she has my sense of directions. The van was relatively unharmed barring a scratch and a dent. The funny thing was her eleventh grade friend who said she felt so sophisticated telling the story to the man at the house they found without crying. He made them hot chocolate.

I’m surprised I could squat 325. It all felt heavy and I was exhausted when I got home. I was supposed to be off work but things blew up yesterday and I had to go in and put out fires. I spent the day giving verbal hand jobs trying to get everyone to play nice and find a solution to moving forward on a job in Milton. It’s very tiring to me to be on all day stressing like that.

wow O_b_s

and then some big bench and squat singles

Wishing you a happy new year, but looks like you are well on your way to having a great great year.

ps-
I took some fall out vids for you

You look really lean. Have you lost pounds?

Remind me again why you’re training the hook grip. Will you use it on the platform? I can’t even imagine . . . although I’ve never worked it. You’re a better girl than I.

Also, there’s a question in my log that I’d like your feedback on.

I have lost a few lbs. Things have been stressful at work. Last week I ended up going in when I was scheduled to be off. I had to sort out a shit storm in which a manufacturer was going to walk away from a job we contracted, had begun and were getting pressure from the site super to move ahead on. I had to talk really fucking fast with our installer, our consultant, the supplier, the manufacturer, the site super and the architect. I’ve managed to get the ship moving again and in the right direction but it was be sheer force of will and pure bloody mindedness. I was told that I’m persistent. He has no idea. I’ve gotten an eleven year old to do extra daily math work for seven months.

All to say this project and a couple of other ones involving winter work and pissy installers have made my weight go down.

The hook grip is an experiment and I’m still unsure about when and if I’ll use it on the platform. 335 is my planned opener and I have no problem with that. 363 is my second and I’m doubtful about that for hook grip right now. However, I have progressed very quickly on what I can pull with hook grip. A month ago, I could barely pull 315 from boxes.

The rationale is that I feel like my set up with a hook grip puts me in a better position and I’m not getting the windmilling I get with a mixed grip. When it comes up, it is a lot cleaner with a hook grip. I may open with a hook grip at the upcoming meet and move to mixed for my second. We’ll see.

I answered your question on raw/gear. I hope it helps.

Awesome lifting! You’re about 1/3 my weight, lifting considerably more. Gawd I’ve got a long road. I may very well have to tear the gym apart today…

Tie dyed t-shirts help quite a bit. Particularly ones made by your kids

Good point! I’d forgotten about that windmilling you were doing. Your hook grip pulls are clean, clean.

Monday January 9

Bench
bar-12
65-5
95-3
115-1
135-3 add shirt
155-1
160-1 signals
170-1 "
175-1 "

This is the last bench day and that’s basically my 1st, 2nd and third. I’m not expecting anything big with bench.

Front raises
25-3x15

Lateral raises - a bunch with little plates

Front squats
135-3x5

Dips on rings - feet on floor
3x10
surprisingly, this was harder than regular dips

HLR on rings
2x10
These were super hard for me.

verbal handjob - I like the expression. women on the job tend to be the peacemakers.

glad to know your daughter is fine.

Happy New Years~
