…oh that dl vid was delicious! FANTASTICALLY impressive and full of luscious heavy reps! ohhh…
You are SO strong and a inspiration for miles. And I agree–you look great!
I rewatched your vids- as you knew
I played with sumo’s today too.
Your arms and shoulders are thicker- and your neck too.
it suits you.
I am def feeling them in the posterior chain.
your video is all the more impressive after my tinkering today

I’ve been noticing lately that my neck feels more muscular and have pointed it out to BB a couple of times. I’m not sure it’s from deads though. Something else gives you an awesome traps pump.

Since we’re waiting for one of your videos, I had to post one of my own. I’m closing in on your 225 for 20 reps ![]()

I very much like your setup. The only way I can stop my hips from coming up first is…you guessed it…to set up higher in the first place. I don’t know if that’s “bad” but that is my only workable solution right now.
Love your arms and shoulders. Distracted me from the fine pulling.
BTW, if you don’t want the bozo comments on youtube, set your videos to “unlisted” which means that only folks with the link (like the readers here) can see the video. That is what I do.[/quote]
Thank you for mentioning my arms and shoulders. I was pointing out to BB that they were looking mighty good in that video. It may have been the lighting but still ![]()
I’ve always done better with a bit of a higher set up. I don’t know why but it’s worked well for me so I don’t think I’ll be changing it. It don’t see the point of being lower.

I noticed those arms and shoulders too…looking good and nice pulls.

I just hope im there when he does the helicopter swing around a pole…
Also I DID notice your shoulders first. Ill have to look again about the neck.
I always love the way my upper body looks when I deadlift too. You’ve definitely got some delts.
I always kind of wish random people would post stupid advice on my videos or try to correct me in the gym. Just for my personal entertainment. I always hear women talking about the stupid shit guys say to them in the gym and I feel left out. I’m pretty sure I’m either way to unattractive to be worth approaching, or I scare the shit out of people.

Okay this isn’t my YOutube channel but I came across this woman’s channel last night. Am I th only one who finds this odd looking? Check out the comments; she is able to squat like this by doing unilateral leg work and step ups. BG, clearly we are following the wrong program.

I’m very happy with how my raw squats are feeling right now. This week was easier than last week.
nice work-
how did the stolen complex feel?
yay for PR’s and nice pressing too.

The complex was good. I kept it really light and it hit everything I needed to warm up. I didn’t feel my usual stiffness when I started squatting.
Nice job on the PR squats
squat video was pretty dam amazing!

Don’t you just LOVE commercial gyms for that very aspect. I HATED switching Bench to Monday but it was a necessary evil.
And nice job on the squats.
Do you think you get ‘barfy’ because you HAD been working in the lower rep ranges and moving up to 8 reps just ‘kills’ you? The last two weeks I have found the opposite to be happening with me. I can get in that 6-12 rep zone and feel pretty good but when I go for the heavy singles, or even triples now, it’s sucking the wind from me. Definitely the opposite of where I was say 10 weeks ago.

Amazing but I don’t quite buy it. I compared it to Jennifer Thompson and Ellen Stein squatting similar weight and it looks way too easy. If the top women actually look like they have 295 on their backs, I wonder about the 115lb girl with no discernible legs or ass squatting it like that for a double without looking like she’s straining at all. I could be wrong though. I have before.

The barfy is the onset of conditioning type work that involves breathing hard
I find it easier to do heavier singles but any type of change in what you’re doing is hard. That’s why I’m doing both right now each week. It seems to be working well.
It was crazy last night. We had to do our RDLs in the rack because all the floor space was taken up. Normally I don’t so the rack is free but it was a zoo.
I wont comment on the squat video-
its probably legit who knows.
Ellen stein used train at a gym I trained at for a few years in Brooklyn,
she is actually a riot

Ellen Stein is a real role model for me. She’s quite an inspiration.
Regarding the video, I kind of bought it until I saw her bench one where her fingers come off the bar a bit during her ‘set’. In addition, she says she can squat like that due to step ups and unilateral leg work. There’s another video of an olympic lifter squatting that weight to that depth and it looks quite a bit different. I was trying to find it last night. She was very impressive. Her legs and butt looked like a lifters.
Ellen Stein and Pat Susco and a few others all trained at this gym
it was very cool to see - they are all mid fifties and all have the awesome
heavy Brooklyn accents.
very free with the tips and help with training, spotting lift offs etc.
there was a 2nd group of Russsian emigres that lifted there too-
older guys in there late 60’s tearing shit up.
That gym had more 45 plates then any gym I have ever seen.
lots of juice heads and lot of made guys.
Now they train in living room gym- which is Pats living room literally
you can see it in Ellen’s youtube.
here is what goes down in Pats living room
Dips at +35. Don’t think I didn’t notice that amidst the rest of that stout training.
