Congratulations.

When I was recuperating from my shoulder surgery, my coach printed out the whole IPF rulebook. He’ll quiz me on it on occasion. Especially when we’re watching meets.

That’s pretty much what we did. I printed out the book. We’d read it separately and then go through it together discussing things that didn’t seem clear. Then we’d do random pop quizzes.

I don’t know if I’ll ever get the percentages out of my head for what you add for missing body parts for weighing in amputees.

Well, I can honestly say that I don’t know those stats!

1/54th for below the ankle
1/36th for below the knee
1/18th for above the knee
1/9th for below the hip

They don’t need to weigh in with prosthetics but if you wear leg braces you have to wear them for weigh in. That’s kind of a burn.

What day are you lifting at the Toronto meet? I think I may head down there to check stuff out. It’d be good/cool to touch base again.
I’ll be lifting on Saturday June 18 and lifting starts at 11. It would be great to see you again. Plus I think the entire show should be a lot of fun. I plan on spending time checking everything else out.
Cool. I’m definitely going to try and make it down for that. Do you know which building the PL stuff is in?

Enjoying keeping up with your log. You are a good storyteller, and inject some good humour into your writing; you’re a lot like Harry in that respect. Congrats on the upcoming happy progression of “the birds and the butterflies”!

I’m not sure. I have to check the site. I’ll post it when I figure it out.

Wednesday June 8

Bench
bar-10
65-5
95-3
115-2
135-3 sling shot
155-3 paused
160-3,1,2,4x1 all with signals
145-6 touch and go

squat
bar-10
135-3
155-3
185-4x3,5

It was hot as hell tonight. I think it got up over 30 and humid. This was quite enough for me.

My daughter started my evening out well. When we were cleaning up the dinner dishes, she looks at me and says “mom, you have nice…abs” I said, that’s kind of an odd statement. She says, “well what can I say, your hair is a mess.”

outa the moth of babe …love it! thats some benching!

EDIT ok I came back to ask what is sling shot?

Good luck on Sat. Julie. Enjoy yourself and make BB take you out afterwards.

See you tomorrow! I’m expecting PR’s… LOL!

It’s a device that simulates a bench shirt without all the effort and pain required to get into one.

Good luck, O. I’m rooting for you.

White lights O!

I’ll actually be lifting Saturday. The classic ‘raw’ guys are lifting tomorrow and equipped on Saturday.

Thanks for all the good wishes. We’ll see how it goes. I don’t have anything big or spectacular planned. It’s mostly a reprise of nationals with slight increases on bench and squat for openers and seconds.

Lifting at the convention centre makes me nervous. I’ll have to see the set up and traffic flow. It’s very new to us. They’ll also have BB, fitness, figure, bikini. strongman (one of our premier female PL’s husband is in that), there is O lifting, combat sports and arm wrestling. In addition, there’ll be a ton of exhibitors. No doubt once I’m on the platform, it’ll be like every other time I’ve been on it and will do what I need to do.
