Size Matters

Sorry to jump in, but this seems to be a common occurrence with these bench aids. I freaked out a bit the first time but I got used to it. After awhile it just seems normal. I have to say that it is seeming to help my bench a bit. I only wish they would come out with something for my squat and dead.

For those interested in what truly powerful women look like. Check out the updated home page of the CPU: http://www.powerlifting.ca/ I have to say I love the compilation. It’s all pictures from nationals. We may not look pretty but it’s the face of strength, effort and triumph.

cool montage

I see you there!

Yes. That’s me. It’s funny how we all have very similar looks though isn’t it?

Thanks Joe. They were fun to do.

I like the Montage. We all kind of look the same though

DB Bench press

I almost failed on my second set because my 11 year old wandered into the garage and there ended up being a discussion on the colour of dogs bum holes. My family is very cerebral.

Nice pressing.

Big pulls-

photo montage is very cool

LMAO!

I think I would have totally failed on that set.

What shirt are you wearing these days? And what size? Just curious.

I’m using an inherited super katana. It’s a lot of shirt and has taken about a year to get it working for me.

As for the rest: In our temple of iron, we are way too hard core to be distracted by discussions of dogs bum holes. That’s how devoted to the iron that we are. It would take a trip through a discussion of the dogs bollocks to really slow things up at all.

Dogs’ bollocks would distract most

I imagine your garage is all pimped out now.

That’s pretty devoted.

What commercial gym are you hitting up these days?

We aren’t really going to a commercial gym at the moment. We let our membership at Phoenix expire now that it’s warmed up.

Thursday May 19

Squat

115-5
155-3
195-1
235-3 straps down
275 - straps up
305-1,1,1,2,2,1

At some point in there I chaged suits.

bench
bar-10

105-5x3

DB OHP
25-2x12

DB Row
92-2x14

I really wasn’t feeling it tonight. I’ve been a bit flat for a couple of weeks and need to pull my head out of my ass because the Toronto meet is in 4 weeks.

Sunday May 22
DL
135-5
225-3
275-2
305-1 straps up
335-1 "
365-1 "
The 365 came up lop sided. I seem to be developing a list to the left side. I went for it again and I could only get it to my knees. I was tapped out. Turned out I couldn’t pull it past my knees because it was actually 385. We forgot to take a couple of 10s off from BBs pulling.
365-1
315-1,1
335-1

Conventional DL for fun
275 for 5 singles. People keep telling me I’m a natural to pull conventional. I could only do it with my belt off. With it done up, I couldn’t get into position.

Things seem to be looking good. I know what you mean about feeling flat though. My meets on the 17th and frankly my head is not in the right place. I’ve got to figure that out quickly though.

That’s strange!
Is it to do with your mixed grip? Does it happen on your pronated grip side? If you switch hands does it still happen?

Great lifting in here and I’m sure you will come right exactly at the right time and kill it like you always do.

I think it’s because of a form change I was working on with pushing my shoulders forward and down to reduce the range of motion. However, I think that’s causing the list. It’s always on my supinated hand side. I think I’ll just stick to the old way for the time being.
