reset my shirt. One sleeve rode way up while I had a conversation with the guy who’s installing my new bath tub tomorrow. Note: phones are tough in a shirt. Also note: I’m super stoked about my new soaker bath tub. BB installed our new toilet today.

We were supposed to start with squat but someone was in the rack.

these were both slow and ugly. Every time I put a suit on with the straps up after it’s been off for a while, it’s like I forget what I’m doing and search for depth.
225-2x4 straps up wide stance playing around
While we were squatting, a young guy came up to BB to ask his advice on bringing up his squat because he looks like he knows what he’s doing. Lately, whenever we’ve gone to a commercial gym, he’s had young fans. The last time it was a group of boys admiring his bench. It’s kind of cute and funny. It’s like he’s the lifting Yoda or something. I think he should use the Yoda voice when he answers them.

These were really pretty boring. I don’t know if I’d do them again. The only fun part was getting the dumb bells and blocking someone who was trying to see themselves in the mirror and screwing up the guy who was doing his stuff right in front of the rack.
So I’m wondering if the 195 is close to your raw max in squat. Just cause I’m trying to figure out what kind of gain you get from the gear. I think squatting in my new suit is going to be a whole new experience.
My coach should be appointed to the world team. If so, I’m going to try to go to St. Catharines to handle him. Would be a kick in the pants to meet you and BB and see you two compete.

Seated HOP sounds interesting.

The seated HOP was awesome. It’s only really effective if you have ants in your pants.
Seriously though, we don’t do it often in the commercial gym rack because the set up puts a real strain on your shoulders when your setting up and re-racking. I find it difficult to unrack the bar by myself.
Regarding raw squat, the last time I tested my max it was 235. 195 is just my typical last raw warm up for geared stuff.
It would be a blast if you came to Worlds. I’m sure a lot of familiar faces will be there. It will be my first but the venue is one I’ve lifted in a number of times. BB and I won’t just be lifting but will also be helping out since it’s our club that’s hosting it. In fact, I’m meeting Saturday with the head of our club about the website for Worlds since I’ll likely be setting that up.

There must be a lot of people competing for the meet to last a full week?
I think the estimate that I heard was approximately 300 lifters. It sure takes a lot of organizing. It’s been interesting hearing about the logistics of putting something like this together and dealing with the IPF. Apparently it’s like dealing with an Olympic committee as to how things are done, hotels, and the equipment that is used. In the end, it’s going to turn out really well.
I spent a lot of the weekend working on the website and will post a link when it’s done. There isn’t a ton of content since it’s mostly a reference for the lifters and a tool to promote the event.

360-3x1 straps up. These were all lop sided, ugly and strange. For some reason, I’m pulling unevenly and my left side is lower. It may be a grip issue.

Thats outstanding pulling Julie, whats the most you’ve pullled in a meet?
The most I’ve pulled in a meet is 365 and 375 in the gym. I just have to work on my pulling like a helicopter. I think it’s a grip thing. My pronated hand is wrapped tightly around the bar but my supinated one often just gets hooked like an after thought so the bar is uneven.
I pulled light last night switching my grip and I did the same thing. I think I may need to grab supinated first then pronated.

I’ve just recently noted that my right shin gets all bloodied but my left shin barely gets scraped. Doesn’t that sound like I"m not pulling back evenly or am I wrong about that?

Training went okay considering my head wasn’t into it at all. I’ve been a bit down since they pulled the Robilyn departure thread from SAMA. I read every freaking page hoping to get some info. The entire thing was a metaphorical cock tease and then they pull it down.

Ahh, now. It’s such mysteries that keep life interesting. I, too, was following it like men’s eyes follow a woman’s ass in a tight skirt.
Question about the SS: My coach tried his Ram today for the first time. Did well, but he had problems with it riding up to his neck when he took the liftoff such that he was actually benching a few inches below it. Any advice?
