Hey guys, i have seen some articles on beginners and i wanted to present my case. It would be really helpful if I could get some tips from you guys who know what your doing.

Then why don’t you follow the directions on those articles? Have you read Vroom’s “Are you a beginner?” thread?

Sorta?
Did you really say sorta?

How much do you EAT? No, I don’t want to know how much you eat, i want to know how much you EAT! Give us calories.

Your body quits after 25 minutes of lifting? You are seriously de-conditioned (unless of course you are doing tabatha, which we all know you aren’t). Improve your GPP first.

I don’t even know where to begin. Don’t worry about getting fat for now. Just keep eating. When you start weighing around 200 lbs. at your height, then worry about your “belly”. Yes that is years down the road.

Obviously, if you didn’t care, or assumed that we cared about your “6-pack in 3 months” you wouldn’t have brought it up.

Read, or re-read Vroom’s thread. Please come back when you have legitimate and serious questions.

In the mean time, good luck with your training!

It’s really getting old reading these threads about people that weigh less than Professor X’s dumps wanting to get big but constantly eating to lose weight. If you want to know why you are not gaining weight, it’s probably because your not eating to get BIG.

Follow these directions:

 1. Rent a 18 wheeler w/ trailer
 2. Drive to your nearest chicken farm
 3. Steal the rancher’s chicken
 4. Slaughter the chickens
 5. Eat the chickens
 6. Repeat daily until you weigh more

I just read that you’re Indian also and I apologize for the cattle comment and you can insert chicken instead.

omg!! lol that’s absolutely terrible! i can’t beleive you posted that!

Keep eating. Use calorie dense foods like peanut butter, regular cottage cheese, whole eggs. And search for the beginners thread by Vroom.

Well, I’m 16 too, same height, 20lbs heavier and I would like to suggest hitting the gym or doing any other type of anaerobic excercise since muscle weighs more than fat.

This is just a pet peeve of mine I couldn’t let slide. Muscle doesn’t weigh more than fat, it is denser, but a pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat.

Now a ton of bricks versus a ton of feathers is a whole notther story!

Well you said it already, but I was referring to the fact that volume-wise, muscle weighs more than fat.

You’re getting your terminology mixed up. Volume and weight do not measure the same quantity. Volume is a measure of the space occupied by an object, while weight is the gravitational force exerted on it (it is proportional to mass). The weight to volume ratio is called the density of that object.

Granted, you would better be off saying: A pound of fat has more volume than a pound of muscle since muscle is denser than fat.

Who gives a shit? You understood what he meant, right? Then why make this a thread about weights and measures? yes, you’re a genius. You can now die in peace since someone told you that.

Just eat bitches!

Na - I’m not gonna let this one slide by Prof - I’m going to say it ! The genius is mistaken Density is the MASS:VOLUME ratio of an object. Good lord if you’re gonna demonstrate your vast intelligence then at least get it right.

But Nate and Weird Al Yankovich are right “JUST EAT IT - EAT IT!”

troop

1 chicken per week? try per day.

just eat till you are full then eat some more 7-8 times a day. fruit is good, but keep eating meat, starchy foods, and fats. do you drink milk? if so go with whole milk. add lots of olive oil to you salad at dinner, or in your protein shakes. eat nuts too, since they are calorie dense

good luck

No one’s linked Massive Eating? I will. But first I have to say that even giving some unexplained phenomenon such as less muscle than Lindsay Lohan coupled with hollow bones, I find it hard to believe that you could have a belly at 5’7, 125.

Here is Massive Eating:

Here’s another top notch Berardi article that gives you a better idea of what principles you should be eating along and food choice:

Read these, and go to the article library and search by author for John Berardi. Read as much of his stuff as you can.

In terms of training, you should lift in the 8-15 rep range if you’re a compete beginner. 2-3 sets per exercise. Look through Vroom’s beginner thread to learn what exercises you should be doing. As much compound multi-joint work as possible. Once you’ve been doing this for a time, you can switch to any of T-Nation’s programs in Vroom’s thread and use a heavier loading scheme.

You forget that some of these guys equate being full with being fat. If they were to ever knock out a large take out pizza in one sitting, I guess they would consider themselves instantly obese.
