The times, they are achanging
Putting DBs on the KNEES is a sure route to failure for us stubby folk. I learned thru a crash course in “How to Attempt to Clean Heavy DB’s Five Times in 10 Minutes and Finally Succeed” that the key is-
Put 'em on your inner thigh and get your elbow and wrist under QUICK. (And don’t take a vacation while you clean the other one, because that WILL fuck up your set.) We want the shoulders retracted and the arms at right or acute angles. Bells roughly at the middle of the inner thigh, on your toes, quick dip down and HEAVE. Most people get all loosey goosey and this leads to looking like a queer while you get all red in the face on your first rep. If you feel brave do 'em both at once for true G status.
It takes a wee bit of practice, but once mastered you can lift ungodly heavy with little trouble and no assistance. I may put up a video.

wow, what happened there.
I meant to quote the guy saying to kick it up with my knee. I do that, but with 80 lbs it doesn’t work too well.

Are you joking J?
I’m a small dude and I have no problem “kneeing up” 70 pounders.
Handsatand pushups…no waiting required.
Or if you are weaker than the girl in that video you can always just do a pike press.
If you can’t knee them up while seated, stand up and clean the DBs and do standing DB presses, or clean them and then sit down?

How heavy of DBs do you press?
last I recall around 70-75 for 6 reps or so, I’m probably up to 80s now.[/quote]
I also use these same weights for shoulder pressing and getting that first rep up is a bitch, I just get someone to give me a bump.

True Dat, if you have the strength to use the 80’s you damn sure should be able to knee em up. Sissy.
