Simpsons 20th Anniversary

Anybody watch it? I thought it was really well done. Even though it’s heyday is gone [it was best seasons 3-9] it’s still the best show of all-time. I thought it was really funny when Seth Mcfarlane said “it’s a huge influence”. No shit, you blatantly steal plotlines from it all the time douchebag.

Really dude? Your starting with the Family Guy bashing already? I did see the special and it reminded me why I used to love the Simpsons so much. For quite some time it was the best show on TV and I would not miss a brand new episode. Of course it did fall off a bit and is showing its age but according to the creators and Fox. The Simpsons ain’t going anywhere anytime soon.

I was surprised MacFarlane even made an appearance. Several of the Simpsons writers have publically called him a cheap hack, and one episode even called him “El Plagaristo” I believe.

I loved the simpsons from when I was 6 or 7 and my parents hated me watching it until I was 14 or 15…then it started to turn into shit. I’m 19 now and I barely watch the show any more, i use to watch the re runs all the time but dont any more because Ive seen every good episode atleast 10 times and the new episodes leave me thinking what THE FUCK was that? I know family guy constantly steals from the simpsons, i see it all the time but I now like family guy more than the new simpsons…hard to say that.

The Simpsons used to be a good show, but the fact that it has sucked cock longer than it was good has ruined its legacy. The Family Guy was never very funny to me since it’s just like watching a modern version of the first few Simpsons seasons. South Park is undoubtedly the best adult-oriented show on TV and has been since it started.

I imagine that was the networks doing.

I watched it, I only watched it because there’s nothing else to watch while waiting for Cleveland show and Family Guy to come on.

I thought the movie was hilarious but can’t figure out why the sitcom is still on the air, it hasn’t been funny for ten-fifteen years.

Bring back Married with Children!

Didn’t watch it but the best Simpsons seasons are 4-7. Better than any show period.

I remember some very good episodes from seasosn 3 to 7 or 8 I guess. More in seasons 3 and 4.
It sucked when they did too much of Homer is stupid and Bart is a troublemaker stuff. Also too many cameos by celebrities.

I stoped watching this show 8+ years ago…

South park
family guy

all much better imho…

i dont think any simpsons episode will be better than the chili cook off.

Greatest show ever. Yes it has dropped off but I will take it over Family Guy and South Park (both of which dropped off drastically too IMO). Family Guy’s prime was all the earlier seasons and every South Park episode has become an attempt to piss off a new celebrity of some status quo.

Simpsons will always reign supreme.

My favorite of all time was “Kids News”, featuring the debut of the Cat Lady and Mojo the helper monkey

This was a big part of it in my opinion. Certain traits of each of the characters were exaggerated as time went on until it the characters became self parody. It happens to a lot of things in entertainment, the whole descent into self parody.

Another one would be the show trying to get preachy with certain social issues, and sacrificing a good story and good comedy for it.

I really liked how they advertised it in 3D and On Ice, only to have a 10 second 3D On Ice thing at the end.

Made me laugh.

Greatest show ever. Yes they’ve dropped off, but thehave also improved some from that point. they definitely aren’t at their lowest point. I enjoy the episodes that I see, but no, the chili cook-off is the best episode ever.

“I heard he carved it himself, from a bigger spoon.”

hahahaha and Marge tries to hide the fact that there’s a chili cook off but he smells it when he goes outside

The chili cook off episode was great, as was Marge vs the Monorail, Itchy and Scratchy land and the one with Rodney Dangerfield as Mr. Burns son. As he’s walking up to Burns Mansion he sees the size of the mail box and says “Whoah, this guy’s got more bread than the prison meatloaf.” I also loved the fighting hellfish [it was changed to flying hellfish] episode. I could probably come up with my 20 favorite episodes off the top of my head. BEST SHOW EVER.
