Do you have an axle squat event in your upcoming strongman competition?

Not doing the comp now because it is in school holidays and we are going on holiday. No axle squat in comp I just decided to do it as a variation. I quite like how it feels on my back.

Obviously there is the balance issue as you can see from my squat tonight. But take that away and I like how the thicker bar sits on the back. Far less back calluses that with a power bar.

Replaced my broken sandbag for a new one and transferred over the contents today.
I had the old bag filled to 62KG so needed a little more sand to fill this new one to 70KG. New one is much nicer than the old one in terms of how it is made.. I would ideally like it to be a little more full but not too worried.
That means I now have
55KG slam Ball. (121 lbs)
70KG bag (154 lbs)
80KG bag (176 lbs)
And the big bag that is 100KG but can take 114KG (250 lbs). I am going to fill the big one this weekend and see if I can move it.

Every time you lift that sandbag remember its 70.1kg!!! That 0.1 counts.

I did think about removing a few grains of sand but figured the extra 0.1 would make me stronger. LOL

You should add another .1 every time you use the sandbag. Get those micro gains.

I guess that would be possible but not sure if the bag would split :rofl:. I have bigger bags than this anyway so can get my gainz another way.

Friday 16 Aug - week 2

Push press from rack
Bar x 5
40 x 3 paused - ok
40 x 3 paused -ok
60 x 3 - ok
70 x 2 - ok but not snappy enough work the dip and drive.
80 x 3 x 3 sets (176 lbs) - RPE 8, 7,
80 x Amrap (176 lbs) - 6.5 reps
These were ok, still learning the movement and having to think too much.

Db shoulder press
27.5 x 3 sets - 7.5, 8, 10
Still wobbly on these. Lots of progress to be made here. Good pump.

RDL (used figure 8 straps)
120 x 10 x 3 sets (264 lbs)
Pump City.

Lateral raises
12.5 x 12 x 3 sets
These really activate my forearm tendon. May have to change them.

Lying tricep ext
40 x 3 sets - 14, 13, 13
Arms swole AF

Good solid Friday night session. Happy with the push press at 80. Lots more to come though.
