Simo - The Red Shoe Diaries Part 2.0

Looks like a triceps weakness. Have you tried doing 2 & 3 board presses?

Also reverse grip bench is really good

I haven’t tried that, I think I may need to get more specific if I really want the numbers t move.

If I had to pick something, it would be triceps. Though speed off the bottom also is a factor.

Bench was affected by the 975479 burpees you completed last year though. :joy:

I also like Tempo benching and Spotto press for these issues, too. Saves on needing extra people or equipment.

That’s a nice little complex. A nice flow.
Back in the day, I used to like Hang Cleans, Front Squat, Overhead Press, Back Squat, BTN Press.

Brutal. But was fun.

Deadlift

And squats

40 should feel good but when you walk with giants like @T3hPwnisher @boilerman and @SvenG it feels like giving up

Great work, @simo74! I love that you found 10 more in there to finish off the set. Amazing work—way to get after it!

Good Simo, doing your prayers

Followed by a deep contemplation of the awful thing you’d done to get to this point

Followed by penance!

This is just a testament to the value of community. We all continue to push each other as we push ourselves, and you’ve certainly inspired me to be more through your actions dude!

I really appreciate those comments Jarred. And you are so right about community and how we can inspire and lift each other. I am just glad a little of what I do is understood let alone it helps push others along. You continue to push harder than most and lead from the front. The fact you got driven by people like me just trying to catch up is awesome.

When I did that set of squats last night another guy I know in the gym was also squatting. He was doing sets of 8 at around 135kg so he is no mug. Before my set of 40 I commented on his squat set and he asked me a question about RPE and how it looked. As a result of that chat he decided to add 2.5 and go to 137.5 for a set.
Before this set I did my 40 and then 10. I watched his set and it looked super smooth. He asks me should he go 140. My simple answer was, well you’ve said it now so you have to. He laughed and said, if you can do 40 reps then I have to be able to do 8. His set ended up being pretty good, with at least 2 in the tank. He surprised himself, but it really goes to show the power of positive reinforcement and motivation we can draw from someone else.

Grace / burpee combo today.

28kg sandbag, burpee with push up into a clean and press - 30 reps.

Great way to get some more overhead work in and get the heart rate up.

Nice to be training outside. Lots of plants to pot once the training was done.
